Does anyone know where I can find a coupon? I need to buy my son a bat and any help would be appreciated! Do you know if they take Sports Authority coupons?

My Entertainment book (York/Harrisbg/Lanc PA) carries great coupons for there. Some cashiers will let you stack this ENt coupon with other specials/coupns, some will not. I don't have the book in front of me to tell you exactly what they are. It is something like 10 off 50, 15 off 75, and 20 off 100 or something?

Don't know if they will take the Sports Authority. I have some $10 off $50 that I would be more than happy to drop in the mail for you, if you want. Just PM me your snail mail

Thank you so much. It won't let me send an PM because my account it too new. My computer crased ad all my log in info was on it. I couldn't remember which email account DIS was hooked too, so I started a new account.

Thanks everyone. I found a $10 coupon on-line. I went to Dicks and used it with no problem.

Look at justbats.com

I am not sure if the entertainment coupons are the same as the ones that Dick's sends out for their reward program, but they (the ones they send out) aren't worth the paper they are printed on. If you look at the limitations and exclusions, they don't cover a lot of the brands people want (Easton, Louisville Slugger, North Face, etc.).

We went and looked at a few stores, checked out the bats and ordered on line. I bought my boys a Louisville Slugger, the senior league 2 5/8" for $250 with free shipping and no sales tax unless you live in MO. This was a 2010 model bat. The same bat, but a 2009 model of the bat was $280 at Dick's. I ordered on a Thursday, expected it to arrive on Monday and actually received it that Saturday morning at 10 am.

(I read up on the bats before buying. Our 2010 model is blue/grey. 2009 was red, 2008 was black & yellow. All the same bat, just different colors.)

We signed up for Dick's Rewards a couple of years ago. Some coupons are restrictive and some are not. But we get them frequently in the mail. Also, you or the coach can sign up at Dick's and they give them a coach's packet that has coupons for each member of their team--10% off purchase but I don't remember what exclusions it has on it--we did this for soccer.

$250, for ONE bat??? Does it have a motor so you can DRIVE it to baseball practice? That is completely insane to me! :scared1:

Dick's gives out a package to coaches that sign up and prove that they are coaching a team(NYSCA card or such). It contains a sheet with coupons for cleats, bats etc. for evry team member. Ask your coach to request a packet so your whole team can save. We get a packet for baseball and football. Every little bit helps. Sporting good prices are insane and used bats are generally not very good. It drives me crazy when I see kids banging their bats on the cement and metal fences. Do ththose kids know how much those bats COST!?

I have two boys using it and they will use it for at least the next three years. Believe me, I did not do this lightly. I researched and researched and researched some more. What finally put me over the edge was when my youngest (plays travel ball after rec season is over) was playing in a tourney and used someone elses $$$ bat. He did well with it, did very well. We also witnessed a kid who can hit the ball very well, buy a new bat (an '08 ExoGrid) that day, use it an hour later and smack a home run. This was without a break-in period. It was his first home run. Kid is a slugger and didn't get it with the other bats he owns. I still cringe at the price, but I know that to compete, they need to have the tools to do it. Apparently the $80 Easton bat wasn't doing it. Side by side, the new bat out-performs all the other bats we have. We did pick up a $300 DeMarini CF3, used for $60. The ExoGrid is a better fit for my boys. I still wish I could find a wood bat league though. I would probably be spending that amount in bats a year because of breakage, but I feel it's safer.

If you check out batwars.com. See if they are coming to your area. It is free to the park and allows the kids to test out the bats. It can be a money making event for the ball park, if they choose to charge admission. We did not have this around us, it took my kids being able to use someone's bat to see if it "worked" for them. It's a way to test drive a bat, so you can be sure you are getting the right one for them.

In St. Louis, Dick's usually has coupons printed on the back of Cardnials baseball tickets (not sure what they are for, since I've never really paid attention to them).

If you are still in need of one, you can PM me.
