I love Dick Clark. It's kind of sad to see him post-stroke, but great to see him still trying to be himself. He's an awesome man. :)

I was thinking the same thing, but was happy that he could still host his show and that the network let him. :)

Apparently he was counting down. But he was two seconds behind the ticker.

He's actually really doing well. Such an improvement from last year. What an amazing trooper he is. :goodvibes

I agree that it's sad to see him post-stroke. But I also give him a large amount of credit for trying to be who we all remember him to be.

Yeah When it was 10 seconds left on the ticker he said 14...13...13 than with two seconds left he said 3...2...1... Happy New Year!Happy New Year

Bittersweet is the right word. :)

I agree. It was great to see how much better he was than last year.

It was very sad to see him struggling through words but I was glad to see he was strong enough to host his show. It wouldn't be the same without him.

I thought he did a great job, considering.
I was smiling, actually, when he would make
facial expressions like his "old self."
It made me feel good that his spirit is still there,
even if the body and mouth struggle :cheer2: !

Yeah, I think he's ok except for the difficulty speaking. You could tell that mentally he's making it and really working on the other areas. It made me happy. I think he's lucky and it's obvious he has incredible support.

I really don't find it sad. I think its fantastic, and a true testimony to the character of the man. He's had a wonderful life, Dick Clark, and has been blessed in numerous ways. He's now been faced with obstacles that fame and fortune cannot buy him a way out of, and he's had to go on. He could have easily retired and given up, but he's fought hard. I admire him for it and think its really inspiring that he did his show last night.

I was glad to see him last night too. I was thinking that if he hadn't had the stroke he would still look just like he did 40 years ago.
