Diapers..???

Every child is different. DD1 spent the most time in a size 4 I think. DD2, in size 2 because she was so small. DS1 has been in size 3 for about 6 months now. DS2, we'll see...

Also I think it depends on the brand as to what size fits best.

I bought my nephew diapers before he was even born. I started with about 3 packages of each size. I didn't bother with NB as I wasn't sure what size he would be when he was born. Some ended up being boxes-not sure which ones now and I may have purchased more than 3 in some sizes.

He is now almost a year and still in size 3. I have already given my sister all the size 4 diapers. I was working on getting him enough diapers for a year, but I guess I have gone over as I have size 5 diapers still waiting here.

Another little one I know is 16 months and he just moved into the size 5 diapers not for fit - but so that he doesn't leak through at night. He is still skinny enough that 4's fit fine.

Every baby (even in the same family) will be different.

My oldest girl was in size 2 from the time she was 3ish months until she was 14 months I think, and then she didn't move to a size 2 until she was probably 2.5. My middle girl was in size 3's by 6 or 7 months and then in a size 4 for a LONG time. I just moved my youngest to size 3's (she is 17 months almost). It's going to be a very long time until she is in a size 4 because she is just smaller. She might potty train before she ever gets to size 4.

I have a friend with a 9 month old in size 4 diapers.

DS was potty trained just before he turned 3 and he was still wearing a 3. He had been in them for over a year.

I have a baby I watch right now who is 10 months old and the 3s are getting tight. He's ready to move up to a 4.

I don't think you'll get a consistant answer on this since it's going to depend on the size of the child, how fast they grow, etc.

Both of mine moved into size 5 around 15 months old (one b/c he was chubby, the other b/c he was tall). The older one (chubby guy) slimmed down once he started running and never got past size 5. The little guy is starting to potty train and doesn't look to move past that size either. For us, they'll have been in it for about a year.
