Diaper Question....

Hey Amanda, I used Pampers Swaddlers/Cruisers with all of mine.

DS leaked through Huggies and Luvs (as well as a few store brands) so we used Swaddlers and Cruisers from early on. We are expecting a girl in June so we also have been stocking up on Swaddlers.

I loved the swaddlers the first couple of months, but after that with both my babies I started looking for a cheaper option. I now use the Target Brand diapers and they are great. They are a little more stretchy for my chunky boy. I have tried them all and it all depends on the baby. I tried huggies for my son and he would leak something awful. I tried Luvs with my daughter and she would get rashes. Good Luck with your diaper searching, just remember just because it is name brand doesnt always mean it is superior or the best choice.

We have 2 boys and 1 girl -- the ONLY diapers that worked for my older son was the Pampers Swaddlers/Cruisers. We tried to go with the cheaper ones (especially since we had 3 kids in diapers at the same time -- the wonders of twins with a brother only 21 months older) but it was a total waste -- they didn't contain anything and they made the kids uncomfortable....

I like pampers for my DD but all my friends have boys and swear by Huggies.

I generally preferred Pampers for the smaller sizes; used some different brands as ds got older.

Wanted to tell you if you've got a Walgreens near you there is a GREAT deal on Huggies right now. Jumbo pack of Huggies on sale for $10. Jumbo packs of Huggies wipes is $6 on sale. But 2 diapers and one wipes, spend $26. Use 2 $5 and one $3 coupon that can be found right now. Brings your cost down to $13 out of pocket. Then a $10 'use on your next order' coupon will print.

You can only print 2 $5 and 2 $3 per computer. The sale is good until Saturday. So if you have a few computers handy, dh's work, mom's house, etc...and a Walgreens nearby you can do this deal several times before Saturday. DON'T use the $10 coupon to pay for any of the diapers, though, or a new coupon won't print out. Just save them up. Then when you're done with those deals you can buy additional diapers at the sale price with your $10 coupons.

Click on 'coupons.com' it will take you there. You have to go through the pages to find the 2 Huggies ones (the $5 and the $3). It will print one and then you have to click back to get it to print a 2nd of each one. You can only do this once per computer (so a total of 4 coupons, 2 $5s and 2 $3s).

I am an avid couponer and until recently diaper purchaser. The Walgreens deal right now is GREAT and unusual. But most of the diaper sales and coupons go in regular monthly cycles, so you don't really need to stock up that much now! I would just start putting away money on giftcards so that you have it saved for diapers when baby gets here.

I only used Pampers swaddlers/cruisers on DS. He leaked out of LUVS, Huggies and WC. I also tried several store brands. I actually found them to be much more expensive because I was constantly changing DS. With Pampers, I changed DS on average 5-6 times a day....but with the others I had to change him every hour or two. Those extra diapers every day really ate up the savings and it was annoying to be stopping to change him all the time.

We had 3 in diapers and I used cloth dipes at home and cheap store brand disposies when we were out for long periods of time.
