Diaper free babies???

This movement extols itself as being better for children. Better than what? Presumably better than what the current popular method is.

We all make decisions because we think they're better than the alternatives. You use diapers (and so do I) because you think it's better than not using diapers. I just don't think these women are making a statement or trying to start a "movement".

I think it's fine that you shared your opinion, but I think it's misguided. I know some of these mothers, and I even know one who writes about it. She does it because she wants the information to be available to the people who want to try it. She's not trying to convert people and shut down the evil disposible diaper empire.

Its all about personal preference. Our local paper did a story on this and the mothers they interviewed mentioned that it is the "natural", "right", "best way to produce healthy children". They basically said that you are evil if you use diapers.

Of course the picture that led with it was of a woman happily breastfeeding while holding a tiny pot under her baby's behind "in case he need to relieve himself". Not how I imagine breastfeeding.

If you sit your infant on the potty every 10 minutes of the day, they WILL go to the bathroom, but it doesn't mean they are trained.

There is a grandma in the drop-in-center I go to that takes her grandsons (ages 11 and 12 months) to the bathroom every 15 min for the whole morning. To me it's a big waste of time.

I didn't know there was a movement and name for it .

For each of my kids after age 2 since I stay at home with them I snatched their diapers off and took them to the toilet after they drank and ate. They just ran around diaperless all day. They potty trained very easily. We had a couple of messes but I was never stressed out with the potty training.

I would have never done it earlier. I did it after age 2 because they all had language and skills to succeed in my little method. I can't imagine promoting this method or criticizing working moms for doing what works for them.
