The Walt Disney Family Museum:

It is with deep sadness that The Walt Disney Family Museum must share that Diane Disney Miller has passed away. Diane died of complications from a fall.

Diane was the eldest daughter of Walt and Lillian Disney, wife to Ron Miller, mother of seven children, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and an inspiration to us all.

Words cannot begin to express our sadness at Diane’s death. She was an extraordinary philanthropist and enthusiastic supporter of the arts. Diane carried on her father’s legacy with dignity, grace, and devotion.

While the family appreciates your thoughts and prayers, we kindly request that their privacy is respected at this time.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made to the memorial fund that The Walt Disney Family Museum has created in honor of Diane Disney Miller. Donations will support the museum's ongoing education efforts, exhibitions, and programs. Donations and cards can also be sent to the family through The Walt Disney Family Museum, attn: Director's Office; 104 Montgomery Street, San Francisco, CA 94129.

Services will be private and the museum has not yet planned a public commemoration of Diane, but a possible program or event may be scheduled in the future.

So sad, she lived a wonderful life. My heart goes out to her family.

I was sorry to hear the news.
May she rest in peace.

It is sad to loose her. It sounds like she had a good life though.

Lots of interesting stories in the obit's I've been reading in various news pages. I think the one point that strikes me the most is how she and her sister Sharon were Walt's inspiration for what became Disneyland. As the story goes, Walt would spend Sunday with the girls at Griffith Park waiting while they rode the carrousel. It inspired Walt to want to create something that families could all enjoy and Disneyland was born.

I saw her once at the Disney Family Museum. She was talking with a few other people and I didn't realize who she was at first. But I overheard her saying things like "Dad did this" and "Dad did that" and soon realized she was talking about Walt. How sad. Odd how I thought she would just always be here.
We were going to go to the Museum last Saturday but I came down with a bad cold so we postponed it until Dec.

Very sad to hear of her passing. We were at the Disney Family Museum this summer. The one thing I walked away with was the love Walt had for his family. What a happy reunion in heaven today for him!

So sad this has happened.

Now she will be with Walt looking down on the parks together.

So you next trip to the parks, go to town square, stop a minute and look up to pay tribute to suck great people .
