I just got back from DL and I have to say, it was awesome! It will take me a little while to post all the days of my trip because my mind is a little foggy of details. We were there 5 days! I'll post a day at a time as I try to remember the details here and there.

Cast Members: Just a school buddy of mine, Jason and myself. He is 21 and I am 22 (still very young at heart though)

We started driving from Phoenix on Tuesday 8/23 at around 6:30pm. I drove 3 hours (through a horrible storm mind you), we stopped at McDonalds for dinner, and he took over for the last 3 hours. We ended up arriving at our hotel at about 12:30am. We stayed at the Marriot Residence Inn right by Disneyland. We got an amazing deal as one of our friends works at a Mariott hotel so we got an employee family discount of $39.00 per night! The hotel was great, very nice and clean and the room was just right for two of us. We got separate beds and I was amazed at how soft the pillows and sheets were. We unpacked and went straight to sleep upon arrival in order to wake up early to begin our adventure.

DAY 1:

We had 7:00am reservations for Goofy's kitchen which I was sooo excited for. We woke up nice and early at 6:00am, got ready, and headed off. It was quite a walk from our hotel, but was definately worth it! We were the first party of two that checked in and we were seated first! As soon as we were seated, we were greeted by Captain Hook and Rafiki!!! It was interesting because I really wasnt expecting any other characters other than the regular Goofy, Pluto, etc. They were both in character the whole time and we were able to get some quick photo ops in. We were the first ones in line for the buffet too! The food was pretty good. I had a little bit of a lot of things. There is a huge variety of food to choose from. I really liked the french toast and the seasoned potatoes. I did have some mickey shaped waffles and pancakes which were pretty good too. The syrup was warm which was great. I also had some fresh fruit and muffins which were awesome. Then onto dessert! Yes, dessert for breakfast (come on, this is Disneyland). I had a lemon bar (very sour, but good), a rice krispie treat with froot loops in it (in the shape of Mickey of course), and ice cream w/ chocolate syrup and chocolate pieces. What a feast! Along the way, we were visited by Chef Goofy himself, Chip, Dale, and Donald Duck. The interaction was great by all the characters and I would do this again in a heartbeat. It was well worth the money and all the kids around us seemed to really love the characters.

After breakfast, we literally waddled out (soo full) of the restaurant into Disneyland. The line wasnt too long for entry as it was about 7:55am. Upon entering the park, I marvelled at main street and kept telling myself, "Wow, I am at Disneyland!" Then we ran over to Indiana Jones as our first ride. There was literally no one in line! It was amazing! We got our own car and let me just say, that ride rocks! Very bumpy and fun! Then we got on Jungle Cruise since we were so close, again no wait. After that we went on Haunted Mansion and Pirates - no wait either. It was crazy! Then we headed over to Fantasyland and ran into our first line for Peter Pan. It was about 20 minutes. We proceeded to ride Mr. Toad, Snow White, and Pinoccio next, followed by Dumbo. Very cutesy rides. I loved them. I was amazed we were able to ride all these rides w/o much of a wait at all! It pays to get to DL early. On the way to Small World, we ran into the Mad Hatter, Captain Hook, TweedleDee, TweedleDum, Wendy and Peter Pan playing Red Rover! It was soo cute to watch and the kids seemed to love it! We took some pics and then headed off to Small World. Then, Toon Town (Picture w/ Mickey at his house and Pluto by the Roger Rabbit ride), Honey I Shrunk the Kids (very cool), Buzz, and then Star Tours. We then headed over to Critter County and found a great photo op with Pooh, Eyore, and Tigger! We also rode the Pooh ride which is adorable because u ride around in a little honeycomb! We then got a fast pass for Space Mountain, and let me just say...that ride is amazing! My favorite for sure! Its sooo fast and the music they play is awesome. It makes your eyes water when coming off the ride.

Pretty intense so far, but we decided that today would be the day that we rode most of the rides and saw all the shows. We saw the Parade of Dreams next which was way cute showing most of the Disney movie characters. The song is great! They play the Welcome song from Brother Bear. I loved that they had Tinkerbell in the parade! After this, we then went over to DCA for the Block Party Bash. I made sure to get a frozen lemonade to cool off during the parade (they have strawberry which I had). I love this parade; its really high energy and exciting. We then got fastpasses for Soarin, which is fantabulous! Its such a refreshing and beautiful ride. They actually pump certain smells into the air to make the experience more authentic. Its wonderful! We then had dinner at Pizza Oom Mow Mow. I had Chicken Fusili pasta which was good and Jason had a huge slice of pizza. We then found a great spot to see the Electrical Parade. It was fantastic! The lights were gorgeous and the music was really cute. The costumes of the dancers were covered w/ lights as well. The song was stuck in my head for a few days. Haha! After that, we ran over to DL just in time to catch the fireworks. Disney magic at its best! This one will bring a tear to your eye! Absolutely beautiful. The sounds and fireworks were synched up perfectly and Tinkerbell flying around was an amazing touch! After the fireworks, we ran over to catch a spot for Fantasmic. This was awesome too! It was really really crowded at the spot we were at, but I could still see pretty well. I had Jason run and get me a churro. (Ah, churros at Disneyland, what could be better?) I loved the part where the characters come out on the Mark Twain riverboat. There are sooo many characters that you don't see in the park. After this, we braved through the crowds and went over to the Mad Hatter to buy my Golden Minnie ears. and then ran over to ride Buzz and Space again. After this day, we were exhausted! We ended up getting to bed at about 12:30. It was a great first day though and I'm glad we got in as much as we did.

More to come...stay tuned!!!

Thanks for the great report! I'm glad you had a great time---but isn't Tinkerbell in the parade at the start? I haven't seen it, so just wondering.

Yes, she is at the very beginning of the parade. The fairies are the first ones to come out and she is on top of this cute golden train with the Parade of Dreams sign on it. It's way cute! I'm so glad they added her to the parade!
