Diamond Parking?

I was pulling into MK parking lot yesterday and saw a sign for Diamond Parking. What is that?

AAA used to give out Diamond Parking Passes when you booked a package through them. Do they still do that?

I'm pretty sure that Diamond Parking is the closest parking after the Handicap parking areas.

Yes, they still give them out (it is part of my AAA package)

Sometimes, if they have extras they will give them to their members even if you didn't book through them. We went in March, didn't book through my membership (I was a new member didn't know about this) and I still got the Diamond Parking passes even though he said he wasn't supposed to give them to me. Here's a tip though. They never took my passes from me. So we really only needed one pass instead of four. LOL

So is Diamond parking fairly close up? Guess it would be if it's after handicap. We're thinking of just driving to the parks instead of using the buses due to our big double stroller. It's a pain to say the least, but better than renting one for $16 a day.

Is it close enough to then walk in, or do you have to ride a tram from there?

The diamond parking is right behind the handicap parking. So yes, it's REALLY close to the trams and entrances.

At MK, you still have to take the monorail or boat to the front gate. You're still better off taking the bus there. It goes directly to the front gate.

At EP, AK, and MGM, you can walk to the gate from the Diamond parking.

We used the AAA parking when we were there the second week of June 2005. I asked my local AAA office about it before we left. She gave me a voucher for it. I would ask at the parking booth where the AAA parking was and they would direct me to it. They never took the voucher at the parking booth. I would leave it on my dash so that they could see it and not tow my car.

The parking was all close enough that we didn't ride a tram the entire time we were there. It was really nice.

I bought one on ebay last year and thought it was great. The only draw back was that the diamond parking goes away in some parks (MGM for sure)after late morning, so no leaving and coming back to a great parking space. MK had permenant Diamond parking, a short walk to the monorail. This year we booked through AAA for free dining package in Sept. and will use in November for Thanksgiving Skyauction trip, then will try to sell on ebay.

1) The diamond passes are left on the dash.
2) They are not collected by CM's.
3) They are active for the full calendar year.
4) All diamond spaces are first-come-first-served.
5) They frequently fill up.
