Diamond Horshoe to close Feb 1

I hope this hasn't been discussed yet....,but wdwmagic is reporting that Diamond Horshow Review will be closed effective February 1. It was bad enough when they took away the food counter! I understand closing old attractions to open new ones, but what are they going to put here??? Woody's Roundup Meet and Greet???

one of the magicians there is my fav person to see in the magic kingdom he's hilarious.......he's the magician with the very large card trick I love that guy he's funny everytime even with the same lines cause he delivers them so well.........

The professor is the best! How can this save them enough money to matter, especially if they aren't letting the performers go. I just can't see any logic behind this move. It always seemed to be pretty crowded, and I think I remember reading that it was one of Walt's favorite attractions.

Magician Terry Ward has been with WDW for 14 years. I just spoke with him and it's true that the Diamond Horseshoe show is closing February 1.
The rumor is that it is going to be replaced with a show involving characters and a pre-recorded soundtrack.
Terry Ward will now be working "streetmosphere" at Disney-MGM Studios, doing magic on Hollywood Boulevard: so make sure to stop by and say hello!

It's just another reason for us to not go back this year. At least to the MK anyway. We will wait until MS and Philharmagic open. I always loved the revue. What a stupid move.

i really really like him but always forget his name he cracks me up with the same jokes. my fav is "ive specially trained my eye to notice when theres a card missin from the deck." which of course he says right after he just asked someone to pull a card from the deck. Lots of his jokes are also very adult orientated which crakcs me how he gets away with some of them. he'll be missed greatly

I'm glad Terry got the MGM job. He told us he had put in for it. I'm also going to miss Dr. Bill (ya later), Marshal Dean Daniels, Mark King and Diamond Jack Egan. Most of all I will miss Rocky. LOL

I was just saying how we absolutely must do this this trip. We have been to disney three times and never saw it. Now it seems I never will. How could it be. I must be a jynx for this place.

I got to see the show they had on at the Christmas party in Dec and loved it. I've enjoyed eating here in the past while enjoying the show. Now who knows what they will replace it with, more kiddy stuff maybe, another shop. It just wont be the same. One more good attraction bites the dust. What are they thinking.

I mean, frankly, even though it stinks that this show is closing. It could be a lot worse. They've got diddly scheduled to open out in California except Tower of Terror.
In WDW, they're building a huge coaster in AK, Mission Space in Epcot, another country pavillion in Epcot, New China and Canada films in Epcot, and Philharmagic and the ten million dollar Stitch overlay to Alien Encounter in Magic Kingdom. So, at least there's a lot of activity at WDW. Disneyland is getting absolutely SQUAT.

What about the new Alladin show? What about a bug's land? How about the attraction updates for the 50th anniversary? How about the stitch makeover for space mountain?


The spin I heard was that DHSR was going to close for renovation and open up with a new show. So the spin is it isn't really closing, just going down for fix ups and then re-opening.

Probably a character based show, probably lots of parents of preschoolers and the princess breakfast crowd will love it and will be so glad that they got rid of that old vault disney stuff and updated it - just wait until the news breaks and watch the reaction.
