It was still very popular. You needed to get advance ressies if you wanted to be sure to see it. I was there the last days it was open as the saloon show, and it was full-to-overflowing every performance.
I'm sure they closed it because it was very expensive to pay the union musicians, singers and dancers all day, every day, for such a small theater.
It was very much like the Hoop De Doo that they can charge $50.00 a ticket for (that, of course, includes a major meal and beverages).
I'd love to see that Diamond Horseshoe saloon show back in place.

That show was a direct descendant of the "Golden Horseshoe" in
Disneyland, a show that Walt, himself, LOVED.
So, that's another of the true "Walt Disney attractions" that have been lost to (I'm sure) budget cuts.
