dialysis/Celebration question

My aunt will be going for two dialysis treatment while we are at WDW. We will have a rental car. Does anyone have any direct experience with this. Does anyone know how long it takes to get there, or how far it is from POR.

My dad is on dialysis & he went to 2 treatments when we stayed at POFQ 2 yrs ago. His center here in OH made all the arrangements in advance. If your Aunt has done that, then they should be able to give you more info, as there are quite a few centers in the Orlando area. Or if you mean she is doing dialysis in Celebration, FL....well in that case I can say it should be about a 15 min. drive.

My advise also is to get a wheelchair at check in to use for getting around POR. On dialysis days my dad was drained.

This lists two dialysis centers in Celebration and has links to phone numbers and contact information. If one of these is the one she has arranged to use, there may be some helpful information fro you at these sites.
You can request a wheelchair from the resort (very good idea from the other poster). I did want to let you know that other psoter have reported that the resort wheelchairs are first come, first served and the one that is available may not be right for your aunt (people have posted that all that was available was an extra large one, when they needed a regular size or vice versa). You might want to rent a wheelchair from offsite, or at least have the number handy in case the resort doesn't have a wheelchair that meets your aunt's needs.
