I have a diabetic cat and a Therasense Freestyle glucose tester. I've been doing this for about 6 months now and not had any problems. Tonight when I slipped the test strip in the machine, it immediately gave me Error 4 - which in my booklet means "possibly bad test strip." I kept trying different test strips, but all gave the same error. I've been using this canister of test strips for a couple of months without problems, so what's up? Can test strips go bad? I really don't want to buy a whole new pack if these are good since they cost so much. My cat has given me a really hard time about taking his meds lately, so I really need to test him. Any suggestions or experiences with this machine? :confused3

Tina, this happened with me an it was the battery. We bought a new one and it worked fine. Usually when I get a code its when I dont get enough on the strip but that time it was the battery.

And good for you for hometesting your cat! I do the same, with my Accucheck Advantage. It's such a help!
