I have been a diabetic for many years but have never been faces with needing to take refridgerated injectables during the day before. Are there first aid stations there where I might leave my medication to keep it cold? Thanks ever so much. This has me very worried as if it overheats I am out an entire months worth. (One pen holds 30 day supply.)

Could you carry a cooler? Maybe a small one that keeps bottles cold?

There are first aid stations in both parks. I'm sure they would hold your meds for you.
I would call City Hall directly and ask them how to handle this though.

Yes. There are First Aid stations in DL and DCA. I do Home dialysis so need to do treatements every 4 hours. The First Aid center in both areas were wonderful. Takes me an average of 45-50 mins per tansfer. I am given a room for my use. The nice thing is They get to know you :). One day I had the same RN at DL as I did the day before at DCA. It is similar to a small medical clinic. There is always a Nurse on staff.

I do need to drink a bit when doing treatments but First Aid will not hold say wter bottles for you. There is a fresh water cooler there but if you want more then that you will have to bring your own each time. They do not store over night. You are to have all medical supplies marked. Bring a note from Dr. (You may not need but since I do 2-3 treatments before I head home for an afternoon nap I have Note stating my medical need).

Hope this helps.

The restuarants will also perpare food like a sugar free desert if you call early or sometimes they will prepare a delight with out notice -- just depends :)

This is very good to know. Patty, my grandmother does daily dialysis treatments too. I wish she could meet us in DL. She's 91 though, so it probably won't ever happen. The last time they went was probably 30 yrs ago so it has changed a lot.

I think I'm going to go to this center for water on our winter trip. It will be nice to know exactly where it is too just in case.
