I believe this has been discussed here in the past, but it worked so well today that I felt compelled to share.

After clearing bag check at the Studios this morning, I saw that the lines for admission were quite long. I remembered that the far-left admission stations were reserved for breakfast ADRs only. The regular admission lines started moving around 8:48 a.m. or so. A minute after that, a CM came out with a stepladder, removed the "Breakfast Only" sign and left. At that moment the far-left area was open to everybody. I zipped over there and got right in! That enabled me to reach TSMM when it had only a 10-minute standby wait. After riding, I happened across a Fastpass+ signup station and got a time for less than an hour later, even as a nonresort guest! (Gotta love January....) I proceeded to ToT which had virtually no wait, then went back for my second go at TSMM. Around 11:00 a.m., TSMM was showing 105 minutes for standby!

So the short version is -- if you see killer lines at the DHS entrance, don't get in them! Hang around the far left, and when that breakfast sign comes down, step right up. :thumbsup2

We have done this procedure also. It works great. 105 minute wait? I thought FP+ was going to eliminate this?

Anyone who thinks FP+ will eliminate 105 minute waits for TSM and Soarin' are sipping the kool-aid even a little too strong for me- and I am a big FP+ fan.

Very cool! - thanks for sharing. :)

California Adventure has a heavily promoted "wide right technique" for Radiator Springs Racers and your "wide left" for TSMM is just as efficient!!

Worked for us! We got there at 8:25 for 9am open and got in the far left line. We were second let in and rode Tsmm 2 times immediately (and later with a prebooked fp+).

Now that the secret is out, we may have to switch to the far right side...:lmao:
