Is it significantly less crowded on days with no Fantasmic show scheduled? I see that the park closes earlier, but I'm wondering if that will be balanced out by the crowd level, allowing us to get more done in less time. The guide books say it will be less crowded, but I'm just wondering, from those with experience, how much of a difference do you really see?

In the past, that was true. However, Fantasmic! is shown almost every day, now.

Fantasmic has been scheduled daily for about 18 months now.

Fantasmic! runs every night.

There is no Fantasmic scheduled on May 23, which is during the time we will be there. The park is scheduled to close at 6, according to every site I've looked at, including Disney's.

Then it'll be less crowded because of the early close (due to a private party most likely), but not Fantasmic specifically.

Ifigured it closes at 6 because of star wars weekend the next morning

I was there 2 years ago on that day and the park was the least crowded I had ever seen it. Of course that was back when Fantasmic was only 3 nights a week, so that may have had a little to do with it

I'm less concerned about the reason it will be less crowded than the fact that it actually will be less crowded. ;) I was just hoping to confirm that earlier close time wouldn't be as much of an issue because we would be able to get more done with relatively smaller amount of people that will supposedly be there.

We are planning on going on the August 28th which is an early close day. We are planning a different evening just to do dinner and Fantasmic. Wondering if the hours of the parks change much after they have been posted.:confused3

Understand. Since you led with the Fantasmic angle, that's how I answered.

A shorter park day such as this will mostly keep crowds away. This happens regularly at MK for the MNSSHP and MVMCP parties that force the MK to close to regular park guests at 7:00p. These days at MK are among the lowest-attended, and is a great example of getting alot done on a short day due to low crowds. You're zigging when most others are zagging.

Not trying to be snarky - I appreciate the info! I will be sad to miss Fantasmic, but we are already planning to try to vist again in 2015, so hopefully I will be able to catch it then.

Didn't take it that way at all. Have a great trip! :goodvibes
