DHS FP+ question

This is our first time travelling since FP+ was introduced and I have a bit of a problem with scheduling our DHS days. My DD3 does not meet height requirements yet for TOT or Star Tours and I doubt she'll have a growth spurt within the next four weeks (yes, she's tiny but she just about makes the height for 7DMT, wheee!). Pretty much everything else in tier 2 is shows. I'm in a wheelchair atm so FP+ wouldn't be of any use for us since I would need handicapped seating at the theater anyways. So I am trying to understand how the tiering works. Can I just make a FP+ for TSMM for us (tier 1) and after we have used that make a same day tier 1 FP+ (GMR)? Or can I not make another tier 1 FP+ until I have used an additional two tier 2 FP+? In which case then I would just make two early tier 2 FP+ for the day which we won't use. I assume then I can schedule another tier 1 FP+, right? This tiering thing is quite confusing TBH.

You would only be able to make one tier 1 fastpass and then two fastpasses that are not tier 1. You could choose TSMM, for example, as your tier 1 and then something like Muppets and Frozen Sing Along for your other two fp's. After those three fastpasses have expired you can try to get a fastpass for GMR or any of the other tier 1 rides.

If you are sure you won't need your 2 Tier 2 FPs, you can cancel them. As soon as you use your Tier 1 FP in the park, you can attempt to book another Tier 1.

The additional FP by using the MDE app should be available to you during your trip. Going to a kiosk will also be an option.

So I would book an early tier 1 and then two tier 2 and after we have used tier 1 we cancel the other two and book another tier 1 at the kiosk?

I'm really not sure if we would be able to take advantage of the FP+ for the shows really because I'd need the handicapped spot after all. We'll see. But at least now I'd have the option of scheduling GMT ride which is something my DD3 would really enjoy.

You actually can Cancel before you enter the park.

It does become complicated if you Cancel the 2 and then decide you want them back prior to your park day. You'd have to call IT to reinstate the 2 FP slots that you canceled.

Thanks :) I guess I will just make FP+ for two shows we may use and then cancel them on the day should we not need them. Good to know that I can cancel them if not needed. Then at least someone else could snag them up and they wouldn't go to waste.
