We can't get the fantasmic package and have decided to bring counterservice to wait for the show (Jan. 3). What counterservice places are near the entrance/line for fantasmic and what do you recommend?

my DH and I did that last yr! there are several counter service places right at the Fantasmic entrance. We went to Studios Catering Co. DH had the smoked turkey leg and devoured it, I had the BBQ sandwich/sub. I am from NC where BBQ is a staple so it was no Carolina BBQ but it was good and a nice change from hotdogs or hamburgers.

From Disney.com
"Studios Catering Co.is in the Backlot area of Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park provides outdoor, shaded seating and an eclectic menu that covers Greek salads, grilled chicken wraps and pulled pork sandwiches for lunch, dinner or a satisfying snack."

Most people will tell you to leave DHS to eat.

We have had good luck at Toy Story Pizza Planet. No great, but decent pizza and salads so you can stay in the park.

Enjoy!

You're going to be able to pick from a small amount of generic theme park food, but it's good for what it is. There is an area right outside of the entrance to where Fantasmic is held called the Sunset Ranch Market. There is a place that serves pizza, a place that serves burgers, and a place that sells turkey legs. That area is the best place for variety in the park, so that would be the place to eat before Fantasmic. There is also an ice cream place if you need to satisfy your sweet tooth :)

Thanks.

I'm assuming fantasmic will be busy that night so we'll have to get there early - we were hoping to grab some food to bring to our seats with us so we can eat while we wait. Good to know that there are some options right near the entrance. Last time we were at DHS we didn't go to Fantasmic and only got as far as the Beauty and the Beast Ride (didn't do TOT or RnRC) so wasn't sure what was near there. Appreciate the help!

The same thing is happening to us in December. I have been trying like crazy to get an F package and have been having no luck. So, we decided that we are going to just do CS before we go. I have heard that there is a concession stand in the theater, has anyone gone there? If so is it worth it? The Sunset Ranch Market, that someone had mentioned, sounds pretty good too....may have to check that one out.

We picked up drinks and snacks from the concession strand in the theatre but the service was soooooo slow and you were really limited to candy & chips etc from what I can remember (no hot food) I would suggest getting food and drinks to take in with you

Thanks for the quick response. If that is the case, then we will definitely be bringing food into the theater, don't think I want our family to be eating candy for dinner :goodvibes.

I didn't know you could bring food into the theater, so thanks for the information. I think CS at ABC will be our dinner. We really likes the cubian sandwich there.
