DHS converting to Pixar Studios

Since these supposed new additions have not been officially announced by Disney, I've moved this thread to the Rumors and News board. :)

OMG that would be so awesome. I have always said that Disney should make a ride that had something to do with the doors flying around. Can't wait to try that ride out...hopefully it doesn't go to the back burner or something. My family has never been a huge supporter of DHS, except for ToT and RnRC of course, but with the addition of TSM and hopefully some more Pixar related attractions, I can see all of us spending more time at that park.

I have been thinking the same thing lately....ever since Iger took over it is all about Pixar and not about Disney.... I guess he forgot it was all started by a mouse.:confused3

What was the last memorable character that Disney has had that they have not used?

We get the Chronicles of Narnia "experience". :rotfl:
Pirates? Check, movies were based on the ride.
The Santa Clause? Don't know what you would do there.
Emporer's New Groove? Ehh.. Don't know what you would do, but I have seen the characters, I believe.
Herbie has been highlighted in the stunt show.
Milan is available I guess if you wanted an Asian themed ride somewhere. However, they have used Mushu/Eddie in the stripped down animation tour.
Treasure Planet was a bomb.
They are already milking Lilo and Stich.
Inspector Gadget?? Could come up with something winnie the pooh like I guess.
Hercules had a show on the ships for a while, don't know if they are still doing it.
Lion King show, check.
Alladin ride, check. Plus, they show up in fantasmic, which does revolve around Mickey and Donald.
Honey I blew up the sequel, check.
Beauty and the Beast show, check.
Little mermaid show, check. Plus, she does show up in fantasmic.

Pixar is Disney now. Not sure if there is a point to making the seperation at this time. Now, if they start releasing bad movies after the purchase, we will know that Disney management is able to kill the golden goose.

I think they should revamp Country Bears and include characters from Brother Bear there, like they did with Iago and Zazu in the Tiki Room.

To all those fans of the original Tiki Room and those that would oppose a change to Country Bears, I'm sorry - but things have to adapt especially when new charactes arrive.

What about Atlantis? That could make for an interesting ride.

They did, it was called Wall-E.

I would love for Pixar to get all the focus on a single park instead of Pixar being at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Buzz was ok to put in, but if they put Cars in Tomorrowland I will scream. What do simple talking cars have to do with the future or space? Nothing. What do monsters have to do with the future or space? Nothing. Do they really fit in there? No.

If DHS takes all the Pixar rides and attractions from now on I will be forever greatfull. Also it would help DHS with the lack of overall great theaming.

Btw, for me personally shows dont cut it. They are a cheaper way to add something to do during your trip. The Beauty and the Beast sow should taken out and have a new show replace it for 2-3 years then replace that one then bring BatB Show back. It would always be somewhat new. Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book would be a great cycle of shows over 10 years. (I didnt list The Little Mermaid because DLR is getting a dark ride in 2011-2012)

Also where is a Cinderella attraction? Or Sleeping Beauty, Fantasia, The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians, Mulan, Tarzan, or even Pinocchio in WDW. So many movies have not been PROPERLY used. Sure we have the Castle, but you take a quick walk through it and your done. BatB has a show, but what about the tiki room type show that was in the works? There are so many things to do instead of Pixar movies.

Well, as an Adult with no kids that goes to WDW many times, I would imagine that they are targeting kids who are watching the new movies. I would imagine that most kids are going to want to go on a "The Incredibles" ride vs. Sleeping Beauty. Heck, think if they did something like the SpiderMan ride with The Incredibles.

Regardless, I have never understood what little neutered gocarts have to do with the future anyways. I wouldn't mind seeing them update that with more cartoony looking cars. It would really be nice if they made them electric cars. Looks like King's Island has even upgraded their track ride, now called Nick Jr. Drivers, that I rode as a kid.

But, I think that tomorrowland suffers from some of the same issues that Epcot does. The home of the future is out of date by the time they build it. PS2 video games, really?

There is a problem with predicting the future. Either it comes true, which means it is not the future anymore. Or it is suplanted by something else, which means it was probably impractical. I have not seen the takeover of the world of monorails. Was the TTA ever seriously considered as a means of transportation?

Yes, Disney attempted to market it and even sold a system based on WDW's technology to (then) brand new Houston Intercontinental Airport. But Disney's management was not really interested in the "real world" and it fizzled and opponents would always label any mass transit proposal as an "amusement park" ride.

Of course People Movers are in hundreds of airports across the globe now. With a little more imagination, they could have been Disney's.

To be quite honest, when the naming rights for MGM were up, I was shocked when they didn't name it Pixar Studios or something to that effect. I wouldn't be opposed. Not quite sure I like the way Disney's Hollywood Studios sounds. Maybe it's because I've called it Disney's MGM Studios since it's inception (or when I could first talk...whichever came first!)

........all the more a pity
