reason why i chose those topics is because each are one movie but point taken

Yes - I do understand that - and your comparison was apt in terms of the popularity of the movie.

I was trying to compare it more from a theme park perspective - probably not easy to do, but where is the interest in the topic in general. It IS amazing the staying power of Frozen, considering we are talking about 3 years+ now. (I actually tried to add "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" but that was actually showing a lower # than "Harry Potter".)

yep totally agree

That's pretty interesting - seeing that it waning, but not at all quickly.

One point - you only used The Force Awakens - if you layer on Star Wars instead it's much, much higher. I layered on Harry Potter as well. Not sure why that seems so low - but it's interesting to think by comparison what a full-fledged Star Wars land might just do for DHS. (I don't really care where they build it - I am with them, if it's built faster, put it in the back.)

https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=/m/0bth54, /m/0nb2r_p, /m/0kvhr5y, /m/06mmr, /m/02676m4&cmpt=q&tz=Etc/GMT+4
Here's just raw searches for a term:
https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=Avatar, Star Wars, Frozen&cmpt=q&tz=Etc/GMT+4

There's no compare. Also interesting that compared to Avatar, Frozen has stayed much more prominent longer in searches. It seems to have much greater staying power even if it never reached the same level.

Connecting Star Tours to the LMA area would be tricky no matter how they do it. Personally I don't think they are going to bother. I think it will continue to operate in isolation when SWL first opens and then it will eventually be re-themed to some other IP.

your probably right. It's a shame to lose the connection to star tours. It makes the land richer, even if it doesn't match the story. With a little creativity they could get it to work.

Star Tours at DL is hopelessly out of place at this point.

My kids are obsessed with Star Wars, but I just don't see the value in going the DHS this year for just that. Gasp...AK might be a better bet this trip.

Really hoping that the Muppet's Courtyard area is plussed aside from adding new restaurants. If they brought back the Muppets Mobile Lab with a new Muppet QS and refurbed/plussed the courtyard/fountain area itself, this could really turn into a nice hidden gem next to the 2 new lands that are coming. I just wish that they would make a new 3D movie. That would put it over the top for me.

Also, I can't remember, is Mama Melrose's also slated to be turned into a TS Muppet-themed restaurant?

Muppets Mobile Lab is rumored to make a comeback. And yes Muppets is supposed to come to Mama Melrose.

I'm not familiar with how google tracking works, but I do wonder how the merchandise aspect of Frozen would affect the numbers here...compared to the other movies, I'm pretty confident the $65+ princess dresses alone would put the merchandise sold above the other franchises...though having been in the market for Star Wars legos this holiday season...I could be wrong cause those things are certainly not cheap either lol

Don't forget the number of adults that purchase LOADS and LOADS of SW merchandise. There are nowhere near that number of adults going for Frozen things.

Very true...I guess I was more thinking the merchandise may affect the numbers on the google tracking, but again am unsure of what google is actually tracking (i.e. searches, purchases, etc.)

I believe the tracking is just based on volume of search terms so actual prices would not impact it.

Muppets Mobile Lab is rumored to make a comeback.

That would be awesome - though I won't hold my breath. I wish they would do more with the roving AAs. Lucky the Dinosaur was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in person. I am not sure MML would reach that level, but since Disney developed the roaming AA technology I am disappointed they've done so little with it.

First Post has been updated with new links and info.

So, based on the fact that today is the official ground breaking day for SW Land at DL (or is it?), do we anticipate official ground breaking at DHS in about 4 months?
