I called WDW today and got prices on 3 different rooms (value, mod and deluxe)

The agent suggested I book the ASMo Suite now as those book quickly but said I could always call later to see if I have PIN for the mod/deluxe (hoping for 40%). Now I, as a DIS Nut, know you can change your ressies later, but DH is one who wants proof....as in writing that we can do this without losing $$$ on our original booking.

Is there anywhere that it is in writing that I can show him?

I don't know where it is on an official Disney site, but I can share with you what I did just a couple of days ago. Back in July I booked 10 nights in a family suite at ASMu for 2010 and paid the deposit of $344. Upon returning from this year's trip I decided to change our plans to 7 nights AsMu suite and 3 nights CSR. The deposit I paid back in July was fully credited to my new CSR reservation and I paid a new deposit for my AsMu reservation. I didn't lose a cent. I have all the confirming paperwork that shows it.

You can also tell him that just days before I was to check into POR a couple of weeks ago, I changed my mind and extended our YC stay. The deposit I made for POR was credited to my YC reservation. The folio I received upon checking out of YC showed the credit from POR.

Yeah, don't have disney writting but we have done it. Changed our ressies after getting a better deal, they just switched it around, dropped the price, no problems.

Tell your DH that it can be done. :thumbsup2
In January, I booked a room only ressie for Dec. then we got a pin (before it went public ) for free dining so I called and booked the package then cancelled the room only. The one thing that did happen was I had to put down a new deposit and they refunded my original deposit.

If you decide to change a ressie, book the new one before you cancel the old one. You don't want to cancel the old one first just in case you can't get what you want.

I just checked and couldn't find it in writing either but I too have made ressie changes and also cancelations without any problems. I think they tell you the policy on the phone when you make the res., and probably would mail you something if you ask... Things are a LOT more flexible and easier (IMO) if you book a room only reservation instead of a package if changes are likely. Good luck with your trip plans!

You can find it in the terms and conditions of your reservation. If you have a paper copy of your reservation flip it over and you will find it there. If they emailed your reservation to you it should be included in the email.

I adjusted mine and they told me it was ok as long as I was 45 days out. Less than that and it's like $100 and within the week of your reservation I think you lose your deposit at the least.

But I wasn't charged anything.

Up until you past the 45 day mark, changes due not include a charge. If you go to make a reservation and you go just to the page where you have to confirm the reservation, you should see terms and conditions, or change/cancellation policy(I can't remember which one it is called), you can get all the Disney policies on changing or canceling a reservation there.

I believe 45 days is if you book a package (room + dining or tickets); I think it is only 1 week to avoid penalties if it is a room only reservation...
