Where to make a reservation for DH’s b-day dinner for lobster?? Suggestions please.

Narcossee’s has an amazing twin lobster tails or whole lobster. Like butter!

I was going to suggest Narcoossee’s so you can get the surf and turf. Really great lobster tail.

The one redeeming meal at Tiffins in Dec 2018 was the Surf and Turf. The steak was tasty and the lobster a good size. (Note: it appears the menu has been updated since our visit. My snark reflects our feelings about the 12/18 menu. )

Few people realize that beside having the best STEAK at WDW, Shula's has the best LOBSTER. And true to form, the Shula's Lobster offerings are NOT some appetizer re-labeled as an entree .

So what is the atmosphere at Shula’s? For some reason I picture lots of testosterone and noise. I have never been so must be my bias toward the name. Will DH and I be able to carry on a conversation in a normal voice? Don’t know why I associate that sort of atmosphere with thus restaurant. Fill me in.

That’s on the bucket list. Almost happened when SWGE was announced but we both decided we really wanted to go to WDW this year.

Mid-September is the best time, lower crowds and the weather is still beautiful. August and July are also nice. My husband (who is a commercial lobsterman) and I live in Bar Harbor so I would say visit here! There are tons of things to do in Acadia National Park. I hope your husband gets his birthday lobster!

Atmosphere at Shula's is like an upscale resturant. We went for our anniversary a few years ago. I remember it being quiet.

Probably 10 years ago I had the lobster at narcoossee's.

Shula's is a lovely, upscale restaurant with excellent food and attentive service. My husband and I converse easily there.

There are some recent video reviews of the restaurant on you tube. Those might give you a better feel for the dining experience there.

Inn/B&B — Inn on Mt Desert (new)
Motel — Primrose Place (new, free in town parking — yes, that’s a BIG deal!)
Hotel — West Street Hotel (roof top pool and rooms with views of the harbor)
Also there are tons of vacation rental homes on VRBO, Homeaway, etc.
If you do decide to visit, go to Thurstons in Bass Harbor for lobster. Literally off the boat and on your plate that day. Awesome views of the lobster boats moored in the harbor. And their cocktails are

Florida is actually the best state to get fresh seafood behind California being it has coasts on Both the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico however like all states on the coasts finding a place that gets locally sourced sea food and how long they get it after it is caught can be hard to know as a tourist.... IMO Shula's is likely to have the freshest seafood at Disney but if you are willing to drive to the coast you can find boat docks and watch the boats come in and see the fish being prepared and you can guarantee yourself a restaurant being there with very fresh seafood. Locally in my state we have a place most would drive on past next to a boat Dock that is both reasonable and 100% fresh caught but being it is order your food and eat outside on a picnic table and cash only it gets passed up frequently. Best people to ask in any state that is on the coast is locals..... otherwise you may end up with frozen from another country.
