The weather has been so yecky here lately my DH told me to check out some flights and see if we could go "home". YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! We leave Thurs afternoon and come back on Sunday! We thought our first stay at our new Home would be in July but now it is just 48 hours away!!!!!

We plan to jusst lounge at the pool and try to remeber what the sun is like!!! I plan on trying out Caskbill's directions to DD!!

Anyone else going this weekend?

Don't forget to swing by and pick me up on your way to the airport. I'll be the one carrying a suitcase and wearing mickey ears. I won't be any trouble at all, I promise! ;) ;)

Give your dh a big pat on the back from your DIS friends - what a wonderful surprise!!! :D :D

Have a great trip!!

I'd pick you up but we would then exceed the room limitations!!!!!!!!! Sorry!

What a wonderful trip!!! What a wonderful DH you must have!! Have a magical trip HOME!!!:bounce:

Dear rbuzzotta!

Also being from the Northeast, can you recommend the best way you've found to book a last minute flight to WDW with out paying top dollar? We fly out of the NY/Metro area. I think that last minute trips are the best! We're also going this July for our first look at OKW!

Skorpie,

Unfortunately I can't help you out with regards to last minute flight deals. I took an early retirement from an airline (I was a flight attendant) and in my retirement package I got free flight benefits for me and my family for life!!!!! So, it is easy for us to get away at the last minute. I fly stand-by so sometimes it works and other times it doesn't (more often doesn't into MCO). We drive on the times we can't get an open seat!!

Wish I could help out all my DIS friends, but then there would be no seats for me!!

Also, I do know that some airlines (USAirways, I believe) offer last minute deals. For instance if you sign up on their website they will contact you for last minute deals. My cousin does this as she lives in PA and her daughter lives in L.A. Sometimes it works out great for her! Good Luck!

Rosemary - Try to reserve a bunch of chairs by the main pool for our 7/23 DISmeet. I doubt if the other DVC members would mind if you just put some towels on say 10 or 15 chairs and leave them there for a couple of months. It's not like we won't use them (in 8 weeks). I wish that I could convince Mrs. Towncrier that "last minute" trips to OKW are a good idea. :(

See you in 54 days! :)

Enjoy some sunshine for me too!! You have a wonderful DH!! I'd love a surprise like that. My DH and I are spending our 5th anniversary at "home" at BWV in August. The rest of the trip is off site since we booked before becomming DVC members. I can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jacksmom...

Ok, someone correct me if I'm wrong...(which I may very well be) but can't you convert your previous reservations to points? And then, depending on availability, spend your entire trip on-site?

I wonder, because we had cash ressies at the Polynesian, and then switched them to points, and then switched THOSE to OKW (all about 2-3 weeks before we were there)

So, if staying on-site is important to you, maybe you can do it.

Hope this helps (and is accurate) :)

I don't know how switching cash to points works either, but we have a very large group who didn't want to spend the money to stay at WDW so we are renting a house. I'm just as happy to have one night away from family and child;) on our anniversary and save the rest of the points for two trips next year!!! One of my DH cousins is getting married at the GF in May 2002, it will be a blast!!!!! Thanks for the info though.

Congrats on going home and an even BIGGER congrats on having such a wonderful DH who will go home with you!! :D
