I was planning on us going to Hilton Head in June and then Disney in Dec. 2009......Now dh says we can't do both. We need to pay off some bills....money is tight.......etc... I understand that we probably need to cut back but now I have to decide which trip to take.

What would you do?????

Do you have kids? If so, let them decide.

We have had to cut costs this year also....my kids picked HH over WDW.

It worked out great, out of pocket was so much less (tics etc).

I am sure you will enjoy whatever you choose.

I have 4 boys ages 7, 11, 13, 15

I am going to talk to them and see what they want to do. My 7 year old and I went to disney in Oct. and all of us went last june. We have never been to hilton head but I think I would miss disney if I didn't go for a year (spoiled aren't I?)

I just want to do both...........:rolleyes1

you are so much better than me

was going to cut back next year -

going in March, May, Sept - and maybe dec?

might cancel May trip - but that is one I want the most.

Sept is II exchange - so definitely going.

march is dp.

I would definitely have picked WDW--BUT then I made my first trip to HHI. Now if you've never been to HHI it is hard to give up WDW, especially in Dec. If you don't choose HHI this time, I hope you have a chance another time. I can't wait to get back and the kids' programs are the best of any Disney resort, IMHO.

Definitely try HH! It's fantastic. You definitely get all of the Disney magic there. The CMs are great, there is SO much to do each day and you have both the inland marsh and the beach to explore. Plus, it will be far less expensive than a WDW trip since you don't need park tickets. That would allow you to pay off more of what needs paying off so you can be ready for a WDW trip in 2010!

You're lucky, my dh says no trips in 2009. I'm longing for March or August 2010. I think I'm wishing my life away.

I'd go to wdw personally, but the poster who suggested HH since it will be a more economic trip has a good point. You could save the extra money for your next WDW trip.

Anybody know if they've made a new planning dvd yet? I need something to watch. My old ones are getting worn.:confused3

This to me is really a no brainer!!! PICK HH! If you go to HH in June, (if your anything like my wife) by December I would be ready to cave and she would get both. Always go with the earlier trip, cause you could convince him of the other later!

Absolutely! By December, you're THISCLOSE to 2010, and I would argue that it IS next year! :lmao:

There seemed to be LOTS of Iowans around here last weekend. I think that there are some Gopher fans who were not sad to see them go home!

Leave Him!!:lmao:

Well you asked!;)

Im just kidding! Now if he said NO trips.........

I enjoyed HHI and we are returning this Christmas for a budget trip. Gas is half of what it used to be and I will cook most meals. We will rent bikes and do the resort activities.

Did he say 1 trip per calendar year, or UY? Can you borrow? :)

That's a tough one. Which one would mean less cost to get to? If HH is closer to you, then I'd probably do that next year and plan on saving extra. Certainly a Disney trip costs everyone more, because of park admissions etc.

On the other hand....I LOVE DVC and WDW in December!!! I'd be hard pressed to make that decision!

We have to have a week somewhere in the summer or else the summer just DRAGS on....also, if you're trying to save some money, I would guess that HHI would be cheaper (no park tickets & prob. less souvies...maybe more meals "in"...). I would say if you can get into HHI that's what you should try. (Maybe you could even go for a couple extra days with what you save?)

I would choose HHI. You will save more money with that trip.....June is crowded at HHI, but nothing like WDW in December! Now, I haven't been to either, but just speaking from an economical viewpoint! HHI is on my list! :thumbsup2
