DH says NO character meals!

Actors in costumes?!?! Are you crazy? It's Pooh and Mickey and Cinderella, etc.

As DD11 gets older, we do fewer and fewer character meals. I was so glad that my sister's family joined us on our trip last month. With her DD1 and DS3, we enjoyed Crystal Palace and Garden Grill all the more.

I'm with some of the other posters. If YOU want to do it, go -- with or without your husband. If your DH knew it was for YOU, I'd bet he'd do it in a heartbeat. Disney is my addiction and my DH recognizes that. (It's less costly than jewelry, drugs, etc.)

I gave this some thought last night, and have decided to "compromise" with DH. I will make ADRs for only ONE character meal, which will be MY choice. So at this point I'm thinking Chef Mickey's for dinner on our day of arrival.

DH, however, is now going to have to come up with some place to eat to use the 5 TS credits we were going to use at Crustal Palace. After spending the last 3 weeks trying to put my ADRs together, he now is going to get first hand experience of just how much effort goes into doing this.

I am 34 and I NEED character meals.
oh, um, i mean...

My kids still like the character meals. The older two are 11 and 12. I think we're doing 3 or 4 on our upcoming trip. Ask the kids if they want a character meal. Maybe one will still say yes and help talk dad into it.

Tinker, I've got you beat... I'm on the downhill slide to 50 and we still do at least 1 character meal. To the OP, My sons are 16 and 13 and always like the character meals. Do they think the characters are a little bit cheesy and corney? sure, but isn't that what vacations are for.. to act a little silly and cheesey  We always like the pictures with the characters. Drag him along, chances are he'll have a blast. Last but not least you can always play "the mom" card. As in hey, I'm making all these arrangements, I get a choice too!
:thumbsup2 Good luck

Our kids are 20, 17 and 15 and we always do at least 1 character meal - usually CP since we love their food!

And DD15 and I always have to eat at the castle!

Personally, I would just keep the ressies and tell him that there wasn't much available for the times you wanted and since you already made reservations for the meals, he has to go anyway!!!

I would do just this same thing! Although you certainly take everyone's opinions into account, as the vacation planner (I am the planner in our family) you have the last word! ;)
