I have the go ahead to start planning for a trip! The only downside is that it's a *whole* year away! Ugh! Usually, we plan our trips with 2-3mths to go so I don't know how I'll do with an entire year of planning! OY!

My DH hates heat and going in the summer has always been an "issue" with him. (he goes but he complains) This time, he wants to go in November. Since we are going during an atypical time for us, I have a few questions.

1. What's the weather like in Nov?
2. Crowds during Thanksgiving Week?
3. Too cold for water parks?
4. What's a 'must-do' in November?
5. What's the good/bad thing about going in November?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice! :)

pack for both summer and winter. weather is up and down at this time of the year.
Crowds during Thanksgiving Week?
very heavy
Too cold for water parks?
it really depends on you and the weather.
What's a 'must-do' in November?
see all the x-mas decorations.
What's the good/bad thing about going in November?
good? everything
Bad? leaving!

November is a great time to go. We went last November for 4 days--Sunday to Wednesday (day before thanksgiving--left Wed night for my mother's in Tampa). We also went for 2 days in June--November is soooooooooo much better. Cooler and fewer crowds. We are going back this year for the 5 days before Thanksgiving Saturday through Wednesday. It is a great time of year to go because all of the Christmas decorations are up and they are beautiful. Last we stayed at the Contemporary--this year we are staying at Wilderness Lodge because they have the most beautiful christmas tree I have ever see in the lobby.
Last year it was in the 70's, but there was one day that was close to 80 and it rained--we immediately headed to Typhoon Lagoon--there was no one there and it was fabulous in the rain. My DH, DD (age 7) ad DS (age 9) swam every day (late afternoon as a break between theme park and dinner) and had a great time. I might avoid Kali River Rapids at AK unless you wear a poncho, but other than that, November is fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:thumbsup2 to being able to plan a trip.

No tips for November -- this will be only my second trip and first for November.

I have never been in November myself, but my DB and his family have been
for Thanksgiving the last 2 or 3 years and love it. It must not be too bad
at that time or they wouldn't keep going back. Enjoy the planning process!

My last trip was Thanksgiving week. The crowds were not too bad. But they did build as the week progressed, with large crowds Thanksgiving weekend. The weather was very nice (shorts and t-shirt) until the last couple of days when a cold front moved through and brought some showers and cool weather (50s with strong winds). So we all invested in some nice disney sweatshirts and jackets.

Take time to enjoy the xmas decorations especially at the resorts and parks.

Are Thanksgiving week crowds comparable to summer crowds?
