I don't think he will have any time to "chat" while there. His screen name is Princessdadx2.

Our dd's (5 1/2 & 3 1/4) are having a tough time knowing he will be gone. This is his 1st trip abroad since 8/02.

He wants ideas to bring the girls something home & I am not sure what to tell him. Any ideas?

He leaves for the airport @ 7:30 EST tonight.

thanks a bunch,

Judy

chocolate chocolate chocolate
Woolworths usually has a good selection of sweets and kids magazines, comics and toys.
Safe trip

or asda ( part of the wal-mart group) they have loads of reasonable toys and clothes

If he's in London the Disney Stores (one in Covent Garden amd one in Oxford Street) then he could get London Disney T-shirts or plush toys.(I'm sure I've seen a Winnie-the-Pooh dressed as a beefeater.) Or perhaps some dressing up jewellery, tiaras or crowns and pretend they're from the Queen.

Where in the UK is he visiting?

I just asked him & he said Aldershot.

Thanks for the ideas for gifts. I am printing them out for him.

Posrtman Pat books! They are really cute and the stories are fun. But no DVDs or tapes, they won't play in American machines.

Hiya

Aldershot is about 30mins from me!!!! not the most exciting place, so be sure to tell him to get to Windsor and into London..

Hope he has a good visit???

That's where he stayed for part of his trip.

Judy

Himself back alive then...lots of army bases there. There also a ski slope and is/used to be a go karting track...other than that I don't think much.

I too live near by, not sure how far exactly though.

so be sure to tell him to get to Windsor and into London..

London would be a fun day trip, i'd recommend convent garden as it's got TONNES of street performers, but make sure he brings a few quid for tips. There are some smaller acts which he may not be so interested in, but there are some big, 30MIN acts and it's just rude not to give a £1 or £2 at the end...no different to if you went to the cinima really, though twice as fun, but half the explosions :)

He is OK. I spoke with him this am.

My prayers are with all of UK. Y'all were there for us during 9/11 & please know that we are now ready to stand with you during this horrific attack.

Thank you Judy, your support along with your fellow Americans is appreciated We are all praying for the families of those directly affected,

Thanks Judy. Good to know your loved one is safe.

regards.

i came back to this thread to look for news of your dh.....im glad he is safe :grouphug:

He did get to visit Windsor Castle. He wanted to go to Woolworth's but wasn't able to due to safety concerns.

I did get a package from Disney Direct & we have princess costumes that he will give to the girls.

I am still praying for all of those affected by these #@*$@!$@ killers.
