DH Is Making His First Solo Outing With DS This Morning

Well DH successfully managed to not have to go out by himself with DS for over 7 months now (except when he drives him to daycare).

This morning, since I have to work and he if off, DH will be taking DS in to his doctor's appointment and will then probably be making a 'quick' stop at Wal-Mart and I am hoping they will also stop by my office for a minutes.

I am sure that they will both be fine but I remember how frazzled I was the first few times I took DS out by myself. The logistics sometimes still boggle the mind.

Before I left this morning I gave DH my best advice: Pack the diaper bag with care...it can make all of the difference in the world. It is really no fun to go out somewhere and remember that you forgot to pack wipes, bottles, extra clothes, etc.

Wish them luck and hopefully a little fun as well!

Becka, don't worry, they will be fine! It couldn't be worse than when I left my dh alone with DD1 , he had no clue about anything, he learnt real quick! Relax, they will both be home when you get there!

This is a cute post! I remember going out with DD the first time. We went to my friend's baby shower.

It's been almost 8 months and my DH still hasn't attemted that...in fact, I get nervous just leaving the two of them alone together. He just doesn't really know how to calm DS down when he starts crying. He doesn't make bottles, he doesn't feed him and he doesn't change him...EVER. Its a good thing my mom lives with us or I would be the only one taking care of the kids!

I think that it's great. My DH took our DD out for their first official all-day outing when she was 9 months. They actually went to WDW. We're only about 1.5 hours away and I had to work the Friday after the 4th of July, and he didn't. So, he took her to MGM and MK. They had a blast!!!

I'm sure that they'll be fine!!

What a brave man. DS is 18 and DD is 14 and DH still is nervous about going out with them.

My DH was great about taking care of the kids from the very first day. Sometimes he came up with some rather "inventive" ways of caring for them that the Baby Books would never think to mention, but then again I didn't have a clue what I was doing at first either.

I can't remember the first time my husband took our son out by himself--I do remember the first few times I left him with the baby by himself while I went grocery shopping. I would pull around the corner and breath a sigh of relief there was no ambulance sitting there in front of the house.

When my son was 3 and my daughter 10 months, I left them for an entire weekend with him, only because my friend was going through a divorce and I was afraid for her mental health.

I actually had to show my husband how to make baby cereal and the neighbors came over several times to check on them--but everything went fine. I think the house was cleaner than when I left it!

I am sure your DH will do fine. I'm sure he will do better than my DH.

My DD was just under a year old (she is now 6) and Lowe's is 45 minutes away. He calls me at work and says can you come right away, I locked Tessa in the Truck with the Keys. I about flipped out. I got in the car and went as quick as I could. I got there and the State Police was there and as soon as I got out of the Car the Officer said "I'm here for his protection" "Don't be too hard on him!!" I unlocked the Truck and DD was crying and crying. She held on to me so tight and did not want to get back in that truck. I can laugh about it now, but it wasn't funny at the time (except that the State Police were there for my DH's protection). I can tell you though, we now have a spare set of keys hid on the outside of every vehicle in one of those magnetic key holders.
