DH is in hospital - Scary!

Update:

DH was sent home yesterday although he still had a fever. They took a swineflu test and today they called in with the results "positive". So this means that my son and I had the swineflu too. DH was put on Tamiflu on top of his other meds and hopefully he will recover quickly. He has an appointment at the hospital on tuesday and hopefully we will find out more then.

Freyja, I know how scary these things can be, but I truly believe he is going to be just fine! Medical technology is amazing today...the things they can do! And with minimal pain and discomfort! You'll see, he will be just find and back to you and your kids before you know it!

How about an update, Freyja? I hope all of you are over the flu.

Sorry I haven´t been around. Things have been hectic around here.

3 days after DH was sent home from hospital he was re-admitted with a collapsed lung, AGAIN! It probably happened the day he was sent home and he spent the weekend in a lot of pain but both him and the doctors thought it was due to him having the swineflu and all of the coughing on top of the last surgery.

Soooo, he had yet another small operation and they decided to keep him in hospital until he was completely flu-free and could have the bigger operation. So he spent another week in hospital and they finally did the surgery that is supposed to prevent this from happening again.

Surgery went pretty well, (it did end up being 3 times longer than they though it would be, but that´s a long story) and he his back home regaining strength.

Last few weeks have been tough with him being so sick and in hospital (3 surgeries in 2 weeks), kids being sick and me trying to work and study. But hey, if it doesn´t kill you....

Luckily DH is doing very well now considering all he´s been through. He´s even working a little bit each day, which means a lot since he´s self employed and missed 3 weeks of work.

Thanks for checking up on us :)

Freyja--thank you so much for the update. You must be about ready to collapse juggling so much for so long all on your own:hug: I am glad to see that your DH is finished with his surgeries, home and even feeling up to a bit of work. It should be all downhill form here:thumbsup2 I hope you are able to rest and take care of yourself also.

Goodness, what a rollercoaster - and not the fun kind!

At least after all of that, he did get to have the surgery and you hopefully won't have to worry about another recurrance. I hope he's feeling better soon.
