DH is away for 2wks

I'm lonely.... duty calls and dh had to go away for 2wks He left Thursday morning and will be back on the 29th.....seems like forever...and I'm missing him so much already.....the many times he has gone away I'll never get use to it " siiighhhh" SIL is watching the kids for me tomorrow because I have to work...but I'm not in the mood to do anything..wish I could stay home...I'm really not feeling up to it...and the kids have no school on Monday and I pratically had to beg MIL to watch them for me....sheesh..... oh well... I'm done whining...

BTDT.......and I always take on a "monumental" project when DH is gone like that....makes the time go by faster, and it's something for me to talk about when he gets home......*instead of just saying I've been sitting around pining for him

I look on the bright side........(DH just left for 5 days.....back Thursday)......

I get the TV flicker.......

Queer Eye
Will and Grace
Chick Movies
No Sports
No War movies

and most important.......no funny looks while watching TV and on The DIS at the same time........

I totally know what you're going through. I hate it when Ted travels and I don't even have children. Now that we are in Florida, and he leaves, I feel so very lonely all by myself in this strange state.

I keep thinking I'll head over to Disney while he's away, but I think it would be too weird to go by myself.

I can't sleep at night and every little noise scares me... and I always worry, what if something happens, who do I call???

Keep busy and hopefully it will go by fast! Rent some sappy movies that your DH would never watch with you!

thanks everyone....yea I think I should start a project w/ the kids...something to do at night before bed time.....Y&K, thanks for the laugh..hehehe so true about the remote ....JustHolly, I sleep w/ the lamp on when DH is not home... I'm such a big baby...lol

My DH has only been away twice in our nearly 10 years of marriage for only a long weekend but it seemed like he was gone a month!! His family lives in CA & he has gone home (only) twice to see them since we moved here 8+ years ago.

We miss each other sooooooo much when he's gone that we call each other about 6 to 8 times per day! His family gets upset because they say he's on the phone with me the whole time he's out there with them!

My oldest DS & I used to make "welcome home" cards for DH while he was away. We would include what we had done while he was away. It was a way to kill some time & my DH loved it!!

If you can get off work why not take the kids away on a short trip or overnight stay somewhere and enjoy yourself? Usually when one of my friends husbands goes away we use it as a great excuse to go on a short trip and have fun (and I mean just girlfriends and kids stuff...nothing else!!)

dh travels 4-5 times a year, usually for 4-5 days. He went to Europe with his brothers 2 years ago to a Golds Gym owners convention, and was gone for 14 days...

I cleaned all the closets, cabinets and basement!

You guys are better than me, when DH is home I sleep on the couch with the TV and lights on!!!
