I've found one unexpected advantage of going solo, for those of you with grumpy spouses (as mine was). DH never had a desire to go to WDW, so I went solo a few times. Well, he saw me coming back with the big smile after having such a great time, he figured he must be missing something, so after 4-5 solo trips, he WANTED to go. Now I still get my solo trip every year, but it's not because he doesn't want to go, it's just that he knows I enjoy going solo sometimes. So now I take 2 trips a year-one solo and one with him, because now he wants to go.
And if anyone's wondering if he went back because he was wondering why I had such a big smile when I came back, no, he didn't think I was having an affair there (as some of his co-workers wondered). He always said, "I know better with you and Disney-an affair would take away from quality time with Mickey!"
