WOW!
I'm so happy! Before Ross started to lose weight (when he was 215 pounds!) his snoring would either make it hard for me to fall asleep or just wake me up every night. Some nights it seemed like I had to keep poking him over and over to get him to shift around so he wouldn't snore (poor guy!) I noticed when he hit about 205 that his snoring had changed from a loud muffler/motorcyle noise to a soft hum with a whistle, more like heavy breathing. Now that he's under 200 I hardly know he's in the bed!
It's amazing! He's gone from about 240 to 197 since 1999. He moved to Florida in Jan. 1999 and I stayed in Maryland to sell our house. While he lived on his own he ate huge bowls of pasta with mayo and tuna for dinner, subs for lunch, bologna sandwiches for breakfast, etc. Hardly any veggies and tons of carbs. I was surprised at how much he had gained in a few months on his own. He lost some weight when I moved down and got to about 233 and didn't lose much more. After a visit to the Dr. he was told he had borderline high blood pressure, so he needed to lose at least 30 pounds. He didn't change his eating habits, just started to play racquetball every day at lunch, or do the stair climber or use the treadmill. He also lifted weights ONE day a week. He lost 18 pounds in a year and a half an then his weight loss stalled.
So he was an even 215 when he started WW back in April and he got to about 200-202 and stayed there for 3-4 weeks. I reached my weight loss goal and decided to change my eating plan to encourage muscle growth and (hopefully!) reduce body fat. He is on the same eating plan as I am now (since I cook all the meals!) and he has upped his weight training to twice a week. So since the start of July he's lost about 5 pounds, but his pants are all way too baggy on him. He has one pair that fits (34s) and a pair of 34 shorts, but everything else is a size 36 and just looks horrible!
He won't buy new pants because he wants to get into a 32 first! It's a sight to see my cute guy wearing such baggy trousers.
Anyway, just had to brag and share my good news about the snoring! Also, his BP is closer to normal than borderline high now, phew!
