DH Has Insulin Pump...HELP

I thought it was 1000.00 every 9 months, or around 9 months. I too am WAITING for insurance to cover this. My daughter will start pumping next Wednesday with the Minimed Paradigm 722. She tends to go low at night. I would SO pay 200.00 every 9 months for that thing if insurance would cover it. You can't put a price on sleep! I guess we'll have to wait until it's covered before we can try it. I am amazed at the advancements that have been made in such a short time. Anyone heard anthing about the inhaled insulin lately?

Though I am not diabetic I try to eat as if I were, because I think it's just healthier. I never look up things, I just stick with the basics: fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, cheese, eggs. I avoid white sugar, processed foods, white flour.

My dad has been a diabetic for 30 years, and many many fruits have alot of carbs (healthy of course) that need to be counted as well. He still does the shot routine, though. He always travels with his carb booklet and orders plain type foods, and buffets are one of the better ways for him to dine, as he can pick and choose all the veggies and lean proteins he wants,,,sometimes they even have sugar free desserts, but have to watch the carbs, there too!

Good luck, wish I could be more help, but if you find anything, please post!
thanks :thumbsup2
