We are obsessed by planning, we spend hours over it but for us it is part of the fun of a Disney vacation and it adds to our excitement (I know we're not alone) :cool1:

However we find it hard to involve our DDs in this because most of our research and planning happens when they are in bed. DH had the great idea of making them an "Our Disney Vacation Book". We are going to get use these to make it http://new.photobox.co.uk/shop/photo-books/small-stylebook and give them one each for Christmas. DH is great at photo manipulation and graphic design; so once we've made our adrs and finalised our plans we are going to make a day by day book for our girls. Each day will have a double page spread with colour photo page with photos from the park and the rides that we are doing that day and then some writing on the opposite page. The girls will be able to look through and see what we will be doing before the holiday and then they can take it on holiday to look at each night to see what we will be doing the next day.

We are also going to use the minibook size for us. Usually we just make little credit sized cards for each day that we laminate and DH keeps in his wallet. But we've decided to put all our information in one of these little books. They are small enough to fit in DH's back pocket and they will be a great keepsake too.

That's a wonderful idea:thumbsup2 , well done you two it's a great way to include the kids.

you should pop over to the creative disigns thread, they have some great stuff there, i have printed loads of t shirts, they do scrap booking etc.

Thanks Tracy I might post this over there and see if I can get any more ideas. :)

Class idea. I wish my hubbie and kids would join in the planning but it is always left to me but it would be nice to share the excitement months before instead of just the week or so before.

my ds and i have been disigning t shirts for our family, he has put together a "planning" sheet, he has inputed the pictures he wanted and i have put the text round.
we showed them menus and they decided where they would like to eat, with a bit of help:goodvibes
ds son has aspergers, he needs to know where when and why all the time, so this has really helped him be less stressed about the trip.
next is envelopes for mousekeeping and tips for different restaurants.
they have pre disigned models that you just print off.
i also need to make autograph books and activity books for the plane journey.
allears have some and themouseforless, just to give you a head start.
hope this helps, and we i can figure out whats wrong with my pphotobucket account i will show you piccies of what i have done already.

Your ideas are great Tracy. I am a teacher as well, I teach part time at a primary school and through the course of the week I cover all age groups from Reception up to Year 4. Its a good idea to take some of this stuff to school. If I gave my Year 4s some ride time and walking time information from RIde Max they could try and plan a schedule for a day. I could even give them a days budget and they could work out park entry costs and where and what they could eat for the day. It would be great for when we next cover "problems involving time and money" :thumbsup2
