This is just unbelievable. Today at lunch DH got hit in our Vibe while getting food. If you remember me posting at the end of January, someone hit him in our van. No wonder insurance rates around here are high. People don't pay attention! They were both turning left (2 left turn lanes) and she was on the inside and turned into him in his lane. My beautiful car is dented on one side, molding falling off on the other from being pushed into the curb and the side mirror has been amputated.

It seems like stuff just never stops happening to us. We just paid out over $300 in copays and medicine since Saturday for illnesses. So frustrating.

Geez - you guys can't catch a break - can you? I read your other thread about you and your DD being sick - and now this on top of it!!

Well - at least you DH wasn't injured..:goodvibes

Hope things take a turn for the better soon!!!!

Me too! at least it's getting to the end of the school year. I am looking forward to a relaxing summer.

I think this claim will go smoothly, the lady that hit him has already filed with her insurance and she repeatedly told him how sorry she was that she hit him. They didn't get a police report though, but he thinks she is on the up and up. We'll see.

I hope my car will be as wonderful as it was. Sounds kinda stupid, but that was my dream car and I was trying to convince DH to switch cars with me cause I don't like driving the van.

I feel your pain - 3 years ago I was rear ended twice within 7 days of each other - and it was summer!! No weather excuses, just stupid people not paying attention. Serious whiplash and several broken bones later I still get nervous when I stop at a red light and the car behind comes up too close.

Hang in there - it will eventually get better!

Hi Lisa-M! I hope your DH wasn't injured in anyway. That really sucks as I can relate. A few weeks ago my son and I went in to Hollywood video for 10 minutes and came out to find someone had keyed a giant scratch down the length of my car. Not even a week later we were parked at Wal-Mart and when we came out of the store found a big ole dent in my right rear fender caused by the big ole SUV that was originally parked next to me and cut the turn too early when they backed out. Do you think they left a note? Heck no.:sad2:

I just witnessed an accident just like this today. Green minivan in left lane, vibe in right turning left at a light. The minvan moved into the right lane and hit the mirror and I think the front panel on the Vibe. I just thought the Vibe was in her blind spot.

I know your pain. I was just rear-ended on Tuesday morning on my way to work. I filed through the other driver's insurance, so it won't cost me a dime, but its such a pain to deal with getting the estimate, scheduling the work, coordinating the rental, etc. I'm also heading out of town next week for the long holiday weekend and now I'll be doing that in my dented up Xterra. :sad2:

If it is them, then your name fits perfectly today !!

yep, I don't know what color the van was, he didn't say. It was a Honda Odessey. You in Chester County?

Just a word of warning. Insurance companies will view those no-fault accidents as high risk. I was almost denied insurance coverage with a different company (a well known American agency) when I moved to Italy because I had 2 non-fault accidents about a year apart. I asked the insurance agent if they were serious and he said yes. No-fault accidents carry almost as much weight as at-fault accidents.

Definitely it would! Lots of Disney fans in PA. I'm still wondering who has that crazy disney decorated minivan with the plates DISFAN. I've seen it twice in 5 years

That is just stinky. Just from reading this thread and this board alone there are far too many accidents happening. People need to start driving better. Too many senseless injuries. DH says he is fine.

Wow, So sorry you are having all this trouble.
In this economy we have to watch every dime. I feel like I take two steps forward & fall back three myself.
So far this month...my niece lost her glasses & her script is too old to get a new pair. Then I find out she only has one pair of contacts left. She needs to see the eye doctor & ins has a $500 deductable. She has a manditory banquet she must attend with a parent & they charge $28 per person.
My DD looses her cell phone. It cost us about $75. I had to pay about $100 for 8th grade graduation stuff. (cap, gown, trip, yearbook...) She needed a black dress for chorus. ($29)
For some reason, the ins co decided not to pay for my DS anti-seizure med this month. (over $300 for the month) I got a dental bill for DS that was denied payment by ins co because the dentist left off a number on the form. ($1,345.00, & $735.00)
:flower3:

:scared1: They hit your Vibe??? I have a Vibe and it is my baby. Well, I have real children and dogs and a husband (not any particular order there, lol).
So what color is your Vibe? Around here, everytime someone sees me driving and they are in their Vibe, they wave! Such a friendly car. :lovestrucMy Vibe is white - I hope you can get yours fixed up - good as new:wizard:

I have people cut in front of me on a double left all the time. I've never let them hit me though. I assume they're going to try to turn into my lane. If I'm on the inside of the turn, I accelerate ahead of them so they'll cut behind me, but usually they'll see me in front before they do. If I'm on the outside of the turn, I know they're going to swing wide into my lane. I assume they're idiots until proven otherwise. I keep just behind their bumper, and let them do the inevitable. I don't even honk because these idiots will slam on the brakes, which is more trouble avoiding than it's worth. I let them continue their idiocy until they hit someone else. I'm ahead of the driver behind them, so I haven't had a problem with double idiots. But there's absolutely no way I'm going to make that turn side-by-side with another car. Not that your DH is at fault for the accident, of course, but it was probably an avoidable accident. Ya need to be either completely in front or completely behind the car beside you, or move to that position with your speed before you get deep into the turn.

Sorry to hear about the accident...

You're not alone though....

My sister's Saturn might as well have "hit-me" painted on the side...

She been hit 4 times (last i checked) none of which have been her fault.

She was t-boned by a guy running a red-light, rear-ended another time, side swiped by someone just not looking) and front ended.

Every time she gets it out of the shop the next accident has happened less then a month later.

I told her she should just get rid of the car.

It's Pewter and lovely :)

All will be well, the driver has accepted 100% liability and we'll bring the car in to get fixed asap. She had State Farm and they have moved so quickly in taking care of this. Definitely will consider them for insurance in the future.

This poster (SelfEmployedDebtFree) is not in VA but NC. Is this the crazy van ?
