Update 2/6
I went to the doctor today. Thought I might have strep--when she took the swab the nurse got a funny look on her face and goes "ohhhh".
I have pneumonia, a severe inflammed throat accompanied by laryngitus, and am short of breath due to the small ariolas in the distal bronchials being constricted (does that sound right??) So I am on cough syrup with codiene, an antibiotic, and get an inhaler to use.
But the good thing is--I don't have strep throat!
So no work for me for at least two if not three days. I have been sick since last Wednesday evening and only at school for 1 1/2 days since coming home that day. Thank goodness the kids are good and qwe have found a great sub that gets along good with the kids and the staff.
Well they finally did it. They have made me sick! They have passed this crud that they have been battling alaong to me. I went to school on Wednesday and it was torture, but i made it through. Told the students I might not be there Thursday and I wasn't, or today either. I think I felt every bone in my body ache over the last three days. I can't sit, lay, stand, walk withough hurting. The only thing that helps is when the tylenol cold and cough medicine kicks in and I can sleep for 5 or so hours.
Now for the good part--I cannot talk either, nada, zilch, zip, nothing. So I will go back to school on Monday armed with notepads and cards with written instructions on them. I do get laryngitis every year about this time or March and it has lasted 6 weeks, tho usually about 2. I couldn't call the doctor today to get an appointment and ds was at school and dh out of town. So will have dh call on MOnday and see if he can get me in to get some med to help with coughing fits.
Just what I needed as we have a graduate presentation coming up in two weeks. Should be interesting!
