DH doesn't want to return as soon as I do!!

DH is not a Disney person. We went last Feb. He put on a happy face for the kids. We did have a good time. When the kids & I started talking about going back again, DH said he did not want to go. DH told me to ask my mom to go with me and the kids. He wants us to go and fun. He just doesn't want to go. So, I called and asked my mom. She loves Disney and said yes. We are all looking forward to our vacation.

After our next trip, I will probably wait a couple of years to plan another trip. I think I will try to look into Fort Wilderness cabins and see if DH is up to it! :)

By the way, we go on a couple of trips every year. So, we will still have some kind of family vacation.

For us, it is the best of both worlds.

Wow that sounds like my husband. I would say go without him next time. I cant even count how many times i have been away with my 3 kids on mini trips throughout the years to different places and do just fine. Last year we were actually thinking of me jjust going with the kids & flying but then decided against it and found a time when we can all go. This will be our first time there (i was there 30 years ago). According to my DH this will be our only trip to Disney (i dont know what his problem is but after this trip if i feel like going a few years down the line i WILL go without him. I cant see only going once. Then again my DH can be moody say one thing and the next year
when it comes time to talk about vacation he will give in to what i want.
Oh and i also have a cousin who has gone for many years and never went with her husband, always her friend & cousin would go with her & the kids.

Go without him! I took DDs last summer (without DH) and am going again this summer (sans DH) for 6 days. My DDs were 6 & 8. I had ZERO problems with any kinds of melt downs, tantrums, etc. (which is typical, for the most part I have good kids).

We would pick a part of the park to be in, i.e., Tomorrowland @ MK. Then DDs would alternate their choice of ride until that part was finished. Then one would say, can we go to the Haunted Mansion. I would :thumbsup2 and off we'd go beginning the alternating of rides again.

We stayed at Pop and used Disney's transportation for everything, with zero problem. There were even times that the girls would ride together and I'd get to sit in my own (Haunted Mansion, BuzzLYear) car and actually get to enjoy the ride without a little one chatting in my ear the whole way through .

We had a great trip and I just know that I will have a fantastic trip again. I feel bad for DH who is missing all of this added fun with the girls, their expressions - wonder on their faces - meeting new characters - dining at new restaurants, etc. That said, HE is the one that doesn't want to go, it's not going to stop ME!

We usually go once a year this is the first year we are skipping:sad1: Anyway, when I can squeeze a 2nd trip in one year my DH refuses to go, he always went but hated to do it, of course until he got there, then he loves it. But 2 years ago, a few family members were going it would be our 2nd trip and he started again he wasn't going I wanted to go for 2weeks and he didn't. So I told him I was taking the kids and he could join me later. I was leaving a week earlier then him. I made all the reservations, bought the tickets and went. 2 days into the trip I get a call from my DH he couldn't take it any longer, I had to change his ticket to get him to Disney sooner. It cost me $200.00 to do that.
The following year I am going again and he says no, so I said then come later don't do the whole trip. I leave early again and this time he made sure he was leaving 2 days after me. LOL.
Sorry for the story, book the trip take the kids ask if he will meet you later in the trip, see if he'll go for that. If not go and have fun, Just me you will not regret it. It hard to leave but once your there it is , FUN, FUN, FUN. By the way it was the only time my kids were on their best behavior. I only had problems with them once their Dad got there.
