He was playing with my camera and lost several trips and school event and a holiday. All very special to me. Now hours earlier I said I forgot to put in a new disk we need to stop at CVS, Walgreens... to make a disk so there we be no accidents. He said it ""asked something about format and I said yes."
Arghhhhhhh.
Two weeks later and I am still ticked. Plus my friend is having a crop tonight and I have almost nothing to take to do.

The Cali. Trip maybe a few. Easter none. Cub scout cross over. He may be standing in the background. Honors day none of dd7 one of ds8 and one of dd 11. Snorkling one of the paid picture from the tour I paid $20.00 to have.
I am the who takes the pictures and shares. Thanks for the sympathy. We are going to mail the disk to sandisk to see if they can get anything off the disk. Just sickening. Like I told him if I saw your cycling bike in the rearview mirrow and backed up anyway with no regard for your hobby how would you feel.

just talked to DH and he said as long as you have not taken anymore pics then it is possible to recover the lost pictures. It would be "a forensic process to recover the data"

Hope this helps!

Thanks.

He took about 8 more of the cloudy sunset before I discovered what had happened. I took the chip out then and put it in a covered case. It is now in the drawer waiting for him to try to redeem himself.
If you scarpbook you know how much these pics mean. And it was nieces first Easter. Her parents are heartbroken too. They were depeding on me.

Ohhh I feel you pain. I was just organizing all the photos on the computer in prep to buy one of those external storage thingys (not the SD cards, or the jump drive) one of the external like 160GB ones so all the photos can be in one places and could last me about 10 or so years (although with all the disney photos LOL)

I will say a little prayer you get tehm back I totally hear you as I jsut freaked out today one of our disney trips is missing off the computer (although the prints are already made) so heighten that totally gone and I'd be crying

external hard drive? Got 2 of those.

Losing photos is an awful, AWFUL feeling. Hopefully, Sandisk can do something or friends can help you out.

In 2001, we went on a huge family trip to WDW because my aunt was dying from cancer and wanted her kids to have had one real vacation. I had a Mavica camera, at the time, so it saves the photos on disks. My normal procedure was to copy all the photos to the computer, then burn a copy on a CD, then erase the disks to reuse them. So in theory, I should have had 2 copies. When we moved to AZ, our computer got damaged in transit, we got the hard drive restored, and I was making sure everything was there when I realized I couldn't find those pictures. So I went looking for the CD, and couldn't find it either! I went through the old disks and found 2 that hadn't been erased yet, so I had like 48 pictures from the trip. My parents had taken some, but I had more and different ones. I cried, and cried and cried. Then late last year, I was organizing all the cds and I found it! Then I cried because I was so happy I hadn't lost the pictures.

That's so upsetting. I hope sandisk can help you out. Good luck!

My honeymoon pictures were on a work computer because I had borrowed the office digital camer and the docking station was on that computer. I hadn't printed them yet or downloaded them to any on-line photo site when the hard drive crashed. There were other pics too but I had backed up many of them. One of the techs tried to help me but because they shouldn't have been there, I couldn't really push the issue. Boy did I learn my lesson and I now have my own camera.

It's a double edged sword isn't it. With film there is the chance the canister can get ruined or not developed right. But with the cards you can lose them, or they get erased, or the computer crashes.
I am in the process of burning CD's and I can't find the pics from our Dec WDW trip. I know DH knows where they are but it is frustrating not being able to put my hands on them.

How heartbreaking.:scared: Hopefully Sandisk can help.

How terrible! Our PC crashed last year and the hard drive was virtually unrecoverable - luckily the engineer DID manage to recover the Disney pics (they were all printed out anyway, but its knowing you can get more that's important in case of disaster). I am now fanatical about uploading pics as soon as I have 1/2 dozen or so, not just to the PC (we now have a ghost drive as well) but also to Snapfish.

I'm the one who takes pics as well - this Wednesday DS(7)'s school had a Victorian Day as part of a week celebrating 125 years of the school and DH had to take the pics as I was at work - luckily he didn't screw up and the pics are safe on the PC.

Hope your pics can be rescued somehow!

Sorry to hear about the loss of picture. I know it is a hard thing to have happen. If I remember correctly there was a thread about how to recover lost pictures from a formatted card not to long ago (on one of the other boards) and someone gave instructions on how to do it. I tried to find the thread, but maybe if you post the question over on the photography board or community board someone could help you. Good luck!

I feel your pain. I had pictures accidently delted from our digital camera of when our dog was a puppy and I was crushed. With a digital camera it is so easy to delete the picture and then you relize it when its to late. I hope you can get your pictures back.

I'd be so P*SSED! I'm so sorry for you, I love each and every one of my photos, and I'd be so sad to lose any. That's one of the reasons I'm still using film - that and the $700 price tag on the only digital camera I would find acceptable, one that acts exactly like a SLR. Good luck with the recovery!
