DH dared me, what would you do?

I would take him up on it, but make him go first!!! AND I would make sure where ever you go for the RAW oyster is a good resteraunt... nothing worse than a bad oyster...

Ooooohhh good point!!!! Since he is the bigger chicken!::yes::

We have an ADR for Cape May, so maybe there?? Yeah, who goes first? Hmmm. If I eat the little loogie & he backs out, I will WITHOLD, if you know what I mean...and for a LONG time!

I love the descriptions from people that LIKE them. "Mostly it tastes like saltwater" "Sometimes a little metallic" :rotfl:

Oysters are disgusting! I don't even like them fried, but it's not hard to swallow a raw one. Cover it in cocktail sauce and have a drink in the other hand to wash down the slime.

Don't forget it update us on if he actually gets on the ride.

Maybe you could have your raw oyster this way:

Spicy Hot Oyster Shooter

½ oz. Absolut Peppar Vodka
1 Raw Oyster
½ tsp. Cocktail Sauce
In shot glass, add oyster and Vodka.

Top with sauce and squeeze lemon on top.

:drinking1

My DF used to say "Once you start, there's no way to stop". He was referring to the fact that a raw oyster is slippery. Actually, they aren't bad.

Personally I'd stop bothering him about riding coasters. You know they upset him so why would you insist on something that would upset him?

I have friends who don't like Sushi, should I insist on them eating it anyway because I love it? I have friends who drink too much at times, should I get drunk with them just because they like it?

Eveyone is different so let him be different. Take your son and ride the coasters and let your husband enjoy the other aspects of WDW.

I'd do it. I think raw oysters are horrendous, but I'd eat one again in certain situations. Like others said, get a small one, cover up the taste with Tabasco and swallow it whole. :crazy2: It's vile, but it'll be over with much faster than a ride on RnRC.

i dont get all the people who tell you to not try to make deals. if you put cocktail sauce on it, it will taste like shrimp. and it will go down with no toher taste. you truly are getting the better end of this deal.

I love raw oysters with cocktail sauce, and if you like beer, have a nice cold one with it. I'm kinda of a moderate ride chicken, and I did go on RNRC, but probably won't do it again(gave me a small headache).:earsboy:

Ummmmmm, not sure where you got that I was "bothering him about riding coasters" or "insist(ing) on someting that would upset him." This little compromise was HIS idea. I am just deciding whether or not to go along with it.

And, btw, I don't eat seafood, period. He is always trying to get me to try clams, oysters, fried fish, and, yes, sushi!

Don't do it!
;)

I used to eat raw oysters & I LOVE them. However, due to increasing pollution in the waters from which they are harvested, I only eat them fried.

DH doesn't like R&R rollercoaster & I wouldn't try to make him ride it...not at all. :confused3

wow...I think I may be your hubby. I don't mind oysters and I don't like roller coasters...lol

My advice if you're going to eat the oyster is make sure you DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHEW IT! Sometimes their is a bit of a sandy feeling and it can get a bit icky if you think about it too much. Cocktail sauce is always a bonus as well. Being drunk is another added bonus when attempting to eat something like this for the 1st time...lol (like when I tried Rocky Mountain Oysters for the 1st time...If you don't know what they are, well, they aren't oysters...lol..I suggest googling to clarify..lol)

As far as the coasters...I really don't enjoy them, and even if triple dog dared I would probably ride, but would not have a good time. On a trip to disney a few years ago, I told hubby "I want to ride space mountain". I think it was more of a 'I've been to disney countless times and that's about the only thing I've never ridden" (is ridden a word? lol) Needless to say, I rode it and didn't care for it; but I'm not sorry I sucked it up and went. I have no problems with the 'virtual' rides, as I know I'm in a seat and it's a psychological 'I can't get hurt" thing.

For the record, hubby will ride every coaster in every park and loves them. I use that time to go FastPass tickets to other rides that I know he would enjoy but I won't, so maybe that can be the middle ground? You ride the scary rides, and he fast passes them for you so he doesn't have a lot of down/alone time having to wait.
