So I know I have said on here many times that my DH gives me planning authority on our vacations.....BUT its getting to the point where when I ask him for his opinion on things he says "I dont care" and thats really getting to be annoying. I just want his input on our vacation.....IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK??? Ok im done....Yes im lucky to have my hubby and YES I DO LOVE HIM VERY MUCH. Just had to get that off my chest.

That's why we're here. Just make your plans and let us give you an opinion. ;)

You're DH sounds like mine. It's not that he doesn't care, he just doesn't want to be bothered by the details. He has a lot stress at his job, so he doesn't feel like he needs to be making decisions about vacations. When we go on vacation, he has a great time and appreciates all the hard work I put in to the planning. I know it's annoying to hear, "I don't care," right now, but I'll bet he'll be grateful when you give him a terrific vacation.

As long as he doesn't give you any lip about what you chose once you're there, you're golden!

Welcome to my nightmare.. not matter what I say he says I dont care.. so I sooo very much know where you are coming from!!

In my case, DH is not allowed to care, ;)

I have to pick everything my way, :rotfl:

I am even deciding what he's gonna order.:cool1:

Luckly,DH has no problem with that at all,:rotfl2:

I guess this is what im use to though....I mean if he just jumped in there and sat right beside me planning the whole thing, I think Id be a little shocked and scared...."who are you and what have you done with my husband!?!?!?!?!?!" LOL

I ask for opinioms and when I get none (DH and DD) I just book something. I am the picky eater so as log as I can eat it is ok.

DBF doesnt care either. He smiles and agrees when I agree. He has never been the WDW before so I want it to be special for him. So hopefully he enjoys what I have chosen.

My hubby told me years ago that he makes decisions all day long, and when it comes time to go on vacation he does not even want to think about it. He just wants to know where he's going, and that he's going to get a decent meal at least once a day.

We now cruise for a family vacation because he can just sit--he got tired of lines and rushing around at Disney. (I still get plenty days on my AP and take the kids to WDW several times a year.)

So plan the trip and have fun!

I just burst out laughing at this one:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I make all the plans, including how far we drive each day, hotels, restaurants, parks, etc. I print the maps, book the hotels, everything. And my DH loves it. Those who have traveled with us love it to (I always give them the option of following my itinerary...and there's plenty of down time, go your on way time built in.) My DH tells everyone, at every opportunity, that he's married to a "travel agent" who is able to perfectly plan every detail. And he brags at how wonderful our WDW vacations are...

So he says your DH just needs to learn to say "Oh honey, you know so much about Disney, you just go ahead...I know it'll be wonderful cuz you do the best planning!"

Course, we've been married since dinosaurs roamed the earth:rotfl:
(minor exaggeration...it's actually just been 33 years.)

We also have been married 33 years and we will be at the world in 49 days. My dh doesn't do any of the planning. He just says that I do a great job so he wouldn't want to mess it up. LOL
He also brags about how great our vacations are and about all the little surprises that I do for him (like the diver at Coral Reef or a basket sent to the room). He "claims" he doesn't know how to do that romantic stuff for me. LOL

Even though DH refuses to give me any answers while planning, I know he's going to gripe when we get there. He thinks I'm "phyco" for planning so far ahead. Well, If you want to eat at Le Cellier or other poplular places, you gotta get your name in there. oh well, I have a good time anyways.

Jan 2009 must be the month for married-33 yrs people to vacation...we'll be there in 44 days (just a 2 night stay, but WTH, I'll take it! We also plan to go in May & September, so this will just be my "preview 2009" )

My DH is the same way. I do all the planning and DH almost always has no opinion. We are going to WDW next month, and will be there over DH's birthday. He had no opinion where he wanted to go for his birthday dinner and we have been to WDW 9 times so he knows the WDW restaurants. :confused3 I said, "fine" and booked the CG. When I told him where we were going he thought that sounded great and I know he meant it. DH really is not a planner and I am. I know he appreciates my planning because he tells me he does.:cloud9: I have just accepted that we are different, although I have to admit that I sometimes am just a teeny bit jealous when I read posts from husbands/men who are planners.

OP, I can relate that it's frustrating when you're looking for input and get none! I agree with another poster, as long as he doesn't complain about what you pick! Just think how lucky you are that you get to go wherever YOU want!! :thumbsup2

That said, these DH's are SO LUCKY to have to simply show up to have a magical Disney vacation planned to the tee. They are so spoiled! I have said it before, I think I need a WIFE! :rotfl:

DH actually cooked for DD and me tonight. Prepared our plates, got our drinks, cleaned up, did EVERYTHING! It was SO wonderful to get waited on, and I was so appreciative. I thanked him profusely! Of course then I started thinking, hmmm, I do this all the time, geez. And I have the decidedly more stressful job to boot!

I don't think we will ever be fully appreciated for what we do, fellow wives. But we sure love 'em don't we? ;)

BTW, no offense to those DH's out there who do the Disney planning, schedule the ballet and ice skating lessons, dr. appts, dentist appts, attend the teacher conferences, do the bulk of the Christmas shopping and wrapping, grocery shopping, etc, etc, I'm sure you're out there! :cheer2:

Whew, that turned into a rant of my own, didn't it! :upsidedow

LOL!!! Im glad IM not the only one in this situation!!! I guess I need to look at it from another posters point of view.....I get to do what I want to do!!! WOO HOO!!! Although I did get some feedback from him last night on should we drive the whole 12 hours or should we drive 8 or 9 and stop....he said IF it were up to me...Id drive the full 12 hours. Im like we have a 5 year old and a 2 year old.....12 hours in a vehicle is NOT an option....LOL

I'm actually married to one of those. :lovestruc I'm the spoiled one. When it comes to WDW though, we both do the planning, which is great.

OP, maybe your DH really doesn't care or maybe he doesn't feel like he has info info to make a decision.

I do all the planning in my family and my limited attempts to have my husband look at menus, etc. have not been very successful.

Here's what I do now: Plan based on my family's likes and dislikes. Whether they give me input or not -- I know them better than anyone. I also know Disney better than anyone in my family, so who better to plan? I try to come up with a balance of experiences catering to my daughter and my husband, all the while making sure there's at least a little something in it for me.

Like the other posters said, if you need help making decisions, though -- we're here!
