Planning a trip 10/01/05 - 10/08/05. We haven't flown to FL in years. Any info on what good prices and airlines are, would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a bunch,
Gretchen

Hi,
We did this flight last week on 5/25 and then back on 5/31. The flight is about 2.5 hours and we got our best deal with American through Expedia.
Less than $200 each- which I thought was pretty good. We booked about 5 months in advance. hth

Hi!

We are going to WDW in October out of DFW. We booked our tickets on American. That is most likely your only option for nonstop flights. We paid $722 for three tickets, and we booked around the middle of April. If you are willing to fly on a Tuesday or Wednesday you can get flights for about $185 (before taxes & fees) but if you go on other days the flights are about $220 (before taxes & fees). If you book on Expedia you pay $5 more for each ticket - cheaper to book from American's website.

Check with Disney Travel Co. before you buy from American. Another poster said somewhere that they got the same flights for MUCH less from Disney than from American. I don't know what city they were coming out of. Cheap deals from DFW-MCO seem to be in very short supply!! Good luck! :)

Well, crud! From what I had researched, I figured it would be about $220 a ticket. The exact days and flights I want are about $230. I did call Disney Travel Co., and they gave me the same price I was getting from the AA site. Now I just need to decide whether or not to just go ahead and book it, or try to wait for a bargain that may never come. (The price for 1 ticket never seems bad, until you multiply by 4 for the family). I guess driving is still an option (we drove in 2002).
Thanks for the input,
Gretchen

Seems like flights out of DFW come out around $185/person lately. DH did snag a deal for our January trip about a month ago. The flight has an hour layover in DC, but we got seats for $90/person. For that price, I'm trying not to complain. :teeth:

I'd look at AirTran also, they offer 2 non-stops per day between DFW and Orlando, and many more flights with a connection in Atlanta.

I checked AirTran, and they're lowest price is about $218 (but the flight times aren't as good - meaning considerably less time at WDW).
Thanks,
Gretchen

I have gotten n/s airfare from DFW to MCO for as low as $112.50 pp Delta.
That was booked pre 9/11 for 10/01 trip.
Since then things have never been that good.
I just flew AirTran DFW/MCO 2 weeks ago as the AA rate was horrible for a last minute trip. It was fine.
These days if I get for under $200 I am happy. I am not booking for Oct yet as in the last 5 years I have gotten significantly better fares about 6 weeks out. Hope that holds true.

When we're talking about an under $200 price - is that before or after fees and taxes?

If you're willing to fly Tue. or Wed., the AA website has a NetSAAver Alert for $178/ticket. I believe that w/ taxes it's $196.

We are flying AA DFW to MCO later this month. Bought the tickets back in January thru Expedia. They were $178.60 each - but by the time we added the taxes and fees it ended up being $215.90 each! Ah well - way better than driving. It's a long, boring drive from Fort Worth to Orlando.
