DFTW Pricing Updates

So is there tax on the Escape package?

We just signed our contract (should have decided to marry in december, would have saved $500  ). On the breakdown of the prices, one of the items is "taxes", so the taxes are included in the $4500 total. :goodvibes

I'm surprised they haven't done that yet for the outside photographers and videographers that people get.

Bite your tongue! :rotfl:

Seriously, though, the reason there's an outside vendor charge for DJs and bands is that Disney still has to set up lighting and a dancefloor and stuff. Disney doesn't have to do anything if you bring your own photographer and videographer. :thumbsup2

Wow prices have gone up! We paid $2350 in 2005 which included the officiant. Of course you get the APs now. We have FL resident passes so we didn't need APs but it's a very nice perk for the Intimate/Escape couples! It was higher once we upgraded the cake, added chocolate favors, additional floral and beverages. No matter what it cost, it was the most magical, perfect day ever and I wish the same for every Disney bride! :cloud9:

I know!!! I would die. I am so happy with the decision to get an outside photographer. I still think I would get and outsider even if there was a charge from Disney for them. I think its worth it!!!

Absolutely! Its worth every penny if you ask me....but I'm not volunteering to pay an outside fee either lol :rotfl:

Thanks for posting Carrie!!!!! I've been trying to locate the new prices. Wow. Now I'm really going to need to start a spreadsheet. 21% service charge...um...a little much.

How do you set up a speadsheet for the wedding budget? I have *never* used excel before and any premade templates I've looked at through google searches have been...well... not very good. Help?

And boy do I wish we had called or signed up earlier... ouch on the price hikes!

Hi Ladies
I just wanted to chime in here and mention about DJ's/bands during the Christmas holiday time.

I did not have a Disney wedding, but I did have a New Years Eve wedding in 2001 in Washington, DC. One thing that came across in my wedding research, was that ALL Bands/DJs were extensively more money during the holidays. I don't believe the issue discussed about the higher cost is a "Disney-thing" I think it is the profession at large.

You have to remember that during the month of December, bands have alot of people knocking on their doors for them to perform, not just weddings. But events like company Holiday parties that pay more and are an easier gig then weddings. The higher cost is a reflection of what they can get from businesses.

i just thought I would share and help you put the higher cost in perspective. :hippie:

I'm praying that they don't raise the cost of food and beverage over the next few months...I don't think I could take that.:sad2:

Hi ladies so after seeing this I contacted my WC, I got all excited that my location cost would go down and then found out it went up. so here is what she commented on the updates:

Wishes Weddings
(If you’ve signed your contract already, none of this applies to you.)

Deposit is now $2,000, and the overall minimum expenditure for your date must be paid 90 days in advance. $1,000 of the deposit is applied to whatever you owe beyond your minimum when you pay the final bill 30 days before the wedding. They use the remaining $1,000 to cover any overages and refund the difference to you after the wedding.

Yes the above is correct.

Service charges are now 21%

Yes the above is correct.

Epcot location fee is now $1,600 (All other location prices are unchanged)

This is for the ceremony fee for Epcot Ceremonies. However, we were recently notified this past week that Italy Plaza will be going to $2575.00+ for a venue fee. Instead of the $2075.00+ that is in your estimated proposal.

Charter bus is $93.50/hour

The above rate is not correct for 2009 pricing. It will be $98.00/hour for a minimum of 5 hours. Again, depending on what happens with the fuel prices, this can vary between now and then.

Limo is $89.60/hour

The above rate is not correct for 2009 pricing. It will be $95.00/hour for a minimum of 3 hours. The above rate is not correct for 2009 pricing. It will be $98.00/hour for a minimum of 5 hours. Again, depending on what happens with the fuel prices, this can vary between now and then.

IllumiNations/Fantasmic! viewing fee went up to $12.95 per person

Yes, this is in the proposal I sent you.

Many locations that used to let you apply the cost of the wedding cake to site-specific food and beverage minimums now don’t. (It could be that they never did, but this wasn't stated in the old information packet....) This means, for example, that your $910 Bridge to Happiness cake won’t count toward the (new, cheaper) $1,500 before-4pm food and beverage minimum at American Adventure Parlor. (However, the cake's $14/per person cost will still count toward your overall food and beverage minimum of $75/$100/$125 per person at all locations.)

This has always been the case. This has never changed. If the cake is not coming from the actual location, then it does not count towards the food and beverage minimum for the venue. It does count towards your Wedding F/B minimum. This sometimes happens with happens with Special Venues other then resort locations. For example, California Grill has a food and beverage minimum of $3,000.00++ to utilize the restaurant. However, the California Grill does not make wedding cakes, the cake has to come from the Grand. Therefore, the cost of the cake does not go towards the $3,000.00 f/b minimum but it does go towards the $100.00++ per person Wedding F/B minimum and the overall Wedding Minimum. This is the case with Epcot Venues that have specific food and beverage minimums for venues.

Lowest-priced dessert party menu (and therefore per-person food and beverage minimum for DPs) is $22.

The food an beverage minimum for dessert parties is $22.00++ and looking at the sample menus for the dessert parties, the lowest menus $22.00++ per person. That doesn't mean that someone couldn't come up with a custom menu less then $22.00++ per person.
Ariel’s is available as a reception location til June 1, 2009
This has just changed again. It is now September 26, 2009. This may continue to change as well.
