Ok. Sorry guys and girls! I am an expert of most things WDW been going for years but this I am a newbie! We are a female couple from the UK. Had a civil partnership in 2006 which was the first step to legal marriage for same sex couples in the UK. This year some time the law will come in hopefully allowing full marriage to same sex couples and we will have the option to convert our CP to marriage which we would like to do.

We ( me Paula 42 , and Jo DW 44 ) would like to then have a DFTW at GF and a blessing performed by one of our good friends who is a minister from NY.

So my questions are..looking at the Escape package ( as it's a very small party about 10 plus us ) my questions I would be so grateful to have answered are...

It states a minimum of 4 nights needed at WDW no problem but we are DVC owners does a DVC ressie count?
Does the price include the guests ( it says up to 18 ) or do they charge per guest plus the minimum $4,925 fee.
Does it come with any photos ( I see you get a photographer for 2 hours ) or do you have to buy these?
Will they charge us for using our own minister?
Is there any dress code?

Any other tips you think might be useful! It's exciting but scary! It's always been our dream to get married or have a blessing in our favourite place on Earth! :-)

First of all, congratulations! I think I can answer most of your questions, but Carrie will likely come along and fill in any additional information I don't have (by the way, if you're looking into a Disney wedding, it could be good to get the Passporter Disney Weddings and Honeymoons book she's in charge of - you should be able to find a copy here).

It states a minimum of 4 nights needed at WDW no problem but we are DVC owners does a DVC ressie count? I believe DVC counts, you just need to give them your reservation number.

Does the price include the guests ( it says up to 18 ) or do they charge per guest plus the minimum $4,925 fee. They do not charge per guest, the cost includes all of them. However, it may not include, say, champagne for everyone, so that may be a cost you'd want to add on.

Does it come with any photos ( I see you get a photographer for 2 hours ) or do you have to buy these? You may want to check the package, but I don't think it includes the actual pictures - I think you have to pay for those. Someone else I'm sure can chime in with additional information there.

Will they charge us for using our own minister? They will not charge you for using your own minister, however, because you are planning on using a friend and not a minister on the list of Disney preferred vendors, they will figure into your guest count. Sounds like your numbers are low though, so that may not be a problem for you.

Is there any dress code? The dress code is what you make of it - I believe there may be the standard no swimsuits, no torn clothing type stuff (maybe), but that's about it. You can have it be as formal or informal as you like.

How far in advance can you/should you book? Because you are an Escape couple, you can contact Disney at 9 months out to be pencilled in for your date, but you won't be confirmed until 8 months. After that, anytime under 8 months, you can book at will.

Hope this helps!

How helpful thank you so much! That is all very useful :-) good tip on the minister being counted as a guest! Again thank you for your time.

alyaki gave you all the info you need! :thumbsup2 Just wanted to add that you do get some photos with the Escape package: a small album and a print of every image. But you might want to upgrade the package or swap it for a disc of digital images (at an additional cost). :thumbsup2

See, I knew I was likely screwing up the Escape photo package information. ;-) Thanks for giving her the correct information! :)

Congratulations sweetie!!!
When you say you want your blessing at the GF, do you mean the Wedding Pavilion?
I may be incorrect (and it wouldn't be the first time), but it is only the 'Memories' collection who have a ceremony location on the beach at the GF
