Day Three!! The plan is to do Animal Kingdom, but since we have gotten through the other parks so quickly, we decide to go back to Magic Kingdom in the morning and finish up a few things we didn't get to do on Monday. Plus, we wanted to hit the Mountains and the HM again! We waited for breakfast until we got to MK, then we hit up the Main Street Bakery for some french toast loaf and blueberry muffin. That french toast loaf is sooooooo good. Mmm. So, then we took a right and headed for space mountain. oh! I forgot to mention on day one that the ONLY time we had a ride wait was on Space Mountain. The wait was 25 minutes, but we figured we hadn't waited in line for anything else, so it wasn't a big deal to wait for just one. We were just heading up the ramp when someone gave us their fast passes!! I was so excited. I told DF that I always read about how people do that on the DIS, and wondered if the guy was a DISer. Any DISers out there give a really tall guy with curly hair SM Fastpasses on Monday the 10th?
Anyway, no wait for SM this time. We also did Stitch's Great Escape, which I was rather disappointed in. They barely changed it at all! I don't know what I was expecting. Oh, DF kicked my butt at Buzz's Ranger Spin. I could never really tell what my laser was hitting, so mostly I just moved the gun a lot and maniacially squeezed the trigger. I tried to hit the orange robot's arm, but alas, I missed.
On to Fantasyland! Zero waits for everything, so we did Philharmagic - awesome. I have no sense of smell, but DF said you could smell all of the food and everything. Too cool! We also did Pooh and saw the Mr. Toad deed picture (I also spotted Moley on the floor). Made it to Snow White as well, but not Peter Pan. Oh well. Then we did the mountains and HM again like we had originally intended and scurried our way out of the park, but not before DF got some ears with his name stitched on them.
We meant to be to AK by 12-1, but we didn't get there until 2! Needless to say, we didn't get it all done. We did the safari, which was pretty typical. The only out-of-the-ordinary thing were some white rhinos that were extremely close to the car. Even the driver seemed pretty surprised! however, we had been spoiled by the animals at AKL being so close, so I think we were a little jaded (unfortunately).
DF loved A Bug's Life! He really enjoyed all of the 3-D shows, actually. I don't think there was a single one he disliked. I really wanted to get to the Festival of the Lion King and Flights of Wonder, but we just didn't have the time. Wednesday afternoon AK was actually quite a blur. I believe at 5, when the park closed, we went to MGM to ride TOT and RNR one more time and then went home for our daily nap
We found out that MK was open three hours later for resort guests that evening, so we took full advantage and went to ride HM in the dark! Well, it's in the dark anyway. But it somehow seemed spookier with it dark outside. And we had a great CM who ran around clutching at the walls in the stretching room - she picked a particular little boy and bugged him quite a bit, and of course snuck up on him while the lights were out and put her face right by his, so he was quite startled when the lights came back up. It was great.
Also, BTMRR at night was quite a surprise! Different things lit up and you could see things inside of that little shanty. Very cool. Overall, this EMH was one of the best experiences I've ever had at MK. It wasn't too crowded, the weather was great - just a great atmosphere.
Quick dinner at Pop, I believe, at like 10 p.m.
Had the twinkie tiramisu I've heard so much about - not that impressed. Too much marscarpone, not enough twinkie (IMHO, anyway).
