Developer Points Question

We just bought 2 50 point add-ons at Animal Kingdom. We chose the Developer points option. So when I called MS about 2 weeks ago to make reservations it was somewhat of an issue. First I was told that I couldn't use the points until September when my room at AK is actually completed. Then she doublechecked when I questioned her and said I was right that I could use them now and they expire in September. So I booked a ressie for August at Vero. The MS rep told me that since they were developer points she would "hold" them for me but that a supervisor had to actually book it and it would take a couple of days.

I just checked the website today and the ressie is not in the system. I am stressed about this now and of course it is the weekend and MS is not open. There were not a lot of rooms at Vero for the time we booked and I would hate to think that it didn't actually get booked.

Anyone have a similar experience or words of wisdom? I am going to call MS on Monday but not sure what do if they didn't get it booked and there are no rooms left.

The Developer points are a PITA. Based upon what we know now we will not do it again. MS doesn't know what to do with them. Administration doesn't know what to do with them. You are in the five month booking window so it is hard to get a good resi. Our points were posted to our account and could be seen on line. Then they said that they were posted wrong so the adjusted our account. Then they said that they shouldn't be in our account because they aren't real points so they removed them. Our resi was viewable on the MS website then one day it was gone. I called MS and was told that it was canceled during a audit. The CM took my information for the resi again and gave me a new conformation number. The new resi does not show on the website but MS insists that it is OK. I never received a written conformation. One last thing, I suspect that the reason that it is difficult to get a good resi using Developer points is because they are using only Developer room inventory to fill the resi. We will be there in 24 days so we will see what happens.

Similar vein, little different twist, we just closed on 2 SSR contracts with 2005, 2006 and 2007 points coming. Our 2005 banked points expire July 31 of this year (as we have an August UY). I made a ressie and changed it same day. When I looked on-line, my balance was incorrect (to the tune of 112 points short of what it should be!!!). With that said, when I called, MS said that there was a "glich" and they were working to correct my information. I would stay on top of them until it's resolved to your satisfaction and you're sure that your points are correct, as mine is still wrong in the system as of Good Friday.

I also had difficulty with making a reservation on Friday using VWL points that I just added on and are already in the system. Initially, I was told that I could not use them even though I had banked points that needed to be used
A supervisor got that straightened out in a hurry and the rest of the booking proceeded smoothly.
