Developer points for AKV phase 1?

Hi,
I have been lurking on this site for a few weeks now. I have decided to buy into Animal Kingdom Villas. I am on the waitlist for phase one and want 2008 points. I want to know has anyone out there received developer points for AKV phase one while on the wait list? I had one guide tell me yes and another no. Please help. I would really like the developer points to use outside of Disney next summer.
Also is it worth buying a smaller contract to BCV to stay there every other year or to just buy more of the AKV and hope to occasionally stay at BCV?

best bet is to ask this on the DVC board... it is about halfway down the page that lists all the boards.

Just curious, but what is the reason for you wanting Jambo and not Kidani? Once Kidani opens in May 2009, it won't matter where your points are (Phase I or Phase II as you are terming it) in AKV, you can stay in any area of AKV regardless. Is your UY already sold out in both phases? I've received developer points at Jambo, but I didn't have to be waitlisted so I'm not sure how that works. When we added on to our contract, the points were at Kidani-so we have points in each phase and it doesn't mean squat as far as reserving accomodations for the future. Also...you should have ONE guide that you are communicating with that is assigned to you. This happens once you inquire with Disney, you don't have to buy in order to have an assigned guide already. They should be your source of information for what is available to you regarding developers points.
