Developer Points Expiration?

We hope to purchase BLT within the next week. (As soon as our guide gets back from vacation) I have read conflicting reports about expiration of developer points. Do they expire in October or is it one year from your purchase date? We are not planning another trip to SSR until December, so if it is October we will have a problem!

In the past it has usually been one year from your purchase date - and that is usually the date when you placed your deposit, not the closing date. That may have changed recently however.

I purchased on Dec 4th and my DPs expire on Oct 3rd 2009.

I believe the DPs offered some time ago for AKV had a one year expiration date.

We just bought at AKL and out developer points have to be used by 10/3/09 which for us sucks because we will not be able to get back this year until Dec. So trying to see what our other options are as well.

If you'd like to use your Developer Points associated with the purchase of BLT at WDW, these must be used by October 3, 2009 at SSR only.

The paper work I sent back a week or two ago says 10/03/09, but I got the option of 5 nights in any 1 bedroom villa since my purchase was 220 points or more......It was 3 nights for 160-219 points........We did not want matching points at SSR.......

We were also told that the DP expired 10/3/09. We purchased mid-late October, finalized early November.

Mine expire on 10/3/09, but they can also be used in a few of the California Disney resorts or you can exchange them in RCI. In my case, they can also be used on a cruise because I bought on a cruise.

We bought BLT on Dec. 22. Our DP's expire on 10/3/09. We'll be using them for 10 days at SSR in May

We bought at AKV on December 27th and as everyone else stated need to bed used by October 3rd, 2009. We are planning on going in September.

I have gotten 2 different answers to this question today. My guide told me today when I did my BLT add on that they had to be used by 10/3/09, then I call MS and they assured me that I have 1 year from the date of purchase (In my case being 1/6/10).

All that matters is what your contract paperwork states.

We just added on 12/20 in person and sent back the signed paperwork this past Monday. Both our guide and the paperwork stated 10/03/09 as the expiration date for the DP's. We will be using them at SSR in July.

My guide confirmed the 10/3/09 date. Well...I guess we will be going to SSR in September instead of HHI. Oh well...HHI in 2010!

We bought in December as well and not only told 10/3/09, but the document for the developer points in all the contract "stuff" states that date as well.....

Hello everybody and Happy new year!!

I just bought at BLT and our guide told us that we can bank the developer point in the world passport account (that is what i am doing....at least i do not loose them ....now...)or use them by 10/2009 at disnelyand resort/ssr or world passport
