Developer point restrictions

sorry, but I'm having trouble with the search feature...what exactly are the restrictions when it comes to using, banking developer points. I was thinking of thinking advantage of the AKV incentive...

no home priority attached to them--so can only book inisde of 7 months out
must be used within a year
can not be transferred or banked

overall I really like the developer points as there are many things you CAN do

--you can rent to help offset some of the initial cost
--you can use them for an extra vacation or a longer vacation
--you can upgrade to a larger room that you normally dont have enough points for


--you can bank your regular points(or a portion of) and use your developer points for the current year. I like this option a lot for those who may not be buying quite enough points to cover their entire trip every year.


or you can do several of the above

we went with 2 extra days than normla for our spring trip this year AND we are going with a larger room for our fall vacation

Exactly! We are booking a week at the poly using our developer points for our first anniversary. We have always wanted to stay there but never wanted to spend the $3,000. While I know it is not the most economical or efficient way of using them it allows us to do something special for this occasion.

Us too. We used the bonus points to book a 2BR lockoff for New Year's at AKV. We would have only had a studio or 1BR wihtout them.
