Devastated - Travellscope Have Cancelled My Dlp New Year Holiday- Help Me Please

After crying my eyes out for over an hour I have finally pulled myself together along with help and support from my partner.

We were booked with Travelscope to enjoy the new year at DLP. The package encluded travel, hotel, breakfast and park tickets. We litterally found out only one hour ago through the radio that travelscope had gone into administration and that all holidays had been cancelled.


We ran to the internet as we did'nt believe it but sadly it was true


Alot of kiddies will be very dissappointed as their xmas disney trips will also be effected so I am so sad for them....











We have decided to be pro active and get ourselves to DLP for new year any means possible

so far we have managed to book a eurotunnel crossing having found out that our car insurance covers us abroad pushing times a bit and reducing our four day holiday to two days and one night....but hay it means new year in disney so I am happy.

so next we checked park tickets...2 day hoppers exist so we can buy them on the gate

now we have the problem of were to spend the night....all disney hotels are booked up, and most of the surrounding hotels are to....I have tried to call disney direct but no joy



so thats were I have decided to turn to the good old dis boards for some advice/support and help.




we are tempted to sling sleeping bags in the car and just sleep in that for the night!!!! we are young after all!!!!!!



what do you guys suggest? have yyou got any advice for us? Can you or any family members help us out?

When you say no joy with Disney direct is that you couldn't get through or they had no availability
What about room only on Expedia

Thoughts and that you get something else sorted out

Really sorry to hear about your plans being ruined. However well done for picking yourself up and being proactive and booking another trip.

Im not sure how Disney woud feel about you sleeping in the car on their land - security etc.

However you will probably find rooms will become available as quite a lot of others will have been affected and the hotels will probably not have got round to rereleasing these rooms. You could try the hotel direct where you were due to stay to see if your allocated room is still available or keep trying Disney direct.

This is a very good idea indeed!

I recall years ago we had flights booked with Virgin, the agent we booked through went bankrupt around the time our final balance was due, I spoke to Virgin and the flights were still booked in our name. After some begging I convinced them to resell me our flights, had to pay a bit more for them, but it was worth it!

I phoned the first number I could find...took me through to a call centre in england...the girl was very helpful but couldn't find a single room in a disney hotel or any in the surrounding area. I asked if she had a more direct number and she told me that she had the main call centre one in florida but that they don't work at weekends...my best bet was to wait till monday when the sites will be updated and perhaps the rooms booked for other people that have also been cancelled will become available.

it's great that you're still trying to salvage a holiday out of it. i hope you have a great time.
eurotunnel car parks are fine to sleep in, by the way. they have security guards going round.
we've also camped in an 'aire' but that's probably not quite such an amazing idea. works for truckers though.

have you looked at etap hotels?
they are 44 euro a night or something and have en suite bathrooms.
breakfast is extra though.
we stayed at the bussy st georges one which has a nice little free car park and you can walk to the RER station and supermarket from it.
there is now one in val d'europe too.

or formule 1 if you don't have bladders.
but we can never find those anyway.

not yet thats the back up plan


we want to try and get a disney hotel room so that we get park entrance encluded.....so need to hang on untill monday ........... keep your fingers crossed for me

wow thats awful. Im really, really sorry. Its fantastic that your trying to get things sorted out again though. I can only suggest what other people have mentioned really about contacting the hotel you were booked for as they might still have the rooms available that had been booked.
