I totally understand and I'm sorry it had to come to this. But get your self and family settled first then when the time is right you will be in a better position to start looking for a resale somewhere. Just remember....DVC will be here waiting for you and so will we!!

I hear ya. We really, really wanted to buy another small contract at BLT..have one but it's small as well. Had everything ready to go, but decided that college costs in the next few years were a bigger deal. We'll buy a larger contract when dd gets out of school.
But I have to tell you...I was really sad to let it go.

I am very sorry for you loss and wish you peace and hope. We also waited a long time to buy DVC because it is so expensive. We went the resale route and are glad we did especially when you see how the prices are dropping. Even if you have to wait a few years to buy imagine how much money you will save if you buy resale and can put more money down or pay cash. In the mean time you can always rent points.

I am so sorry for you. The economy has really hurt a lot of people. While Disney Vacation Club is a luxury, I can understand totally how your feel. Things will turn around and I am sure that one day, maybe even in the near future, you will be able to become a member. Disney Vacation Club will be there when you are ready. Just be positive about it. When the time is right you will be able to enjoy it even more and it is something to which you can look forward.

It's not just the initial purchase, but the continuing outlay of maintenance fees, not to mention the expense of just GOING. Our trips cost me close to $1,000 -- at least $650 for airfare for the two of us and then the rest for food, etc. That doesn't even include park tickets!

I agree with other posters, save your money and buy a small 25-50 point resale contract to get started when the time is right.
