Detroita area disers w/AAA, please help!

Hi. I have another thread going right now about AAA charging a service fee, and everyone keeps telling me that they didn't have to pay one. Did you have to pay one when you booked your trip? If not, please share your agent with me! Thanks!

We used AAA back in 2000 for our trip and didn't pay a fee.....We didn't go back to them though for our trip in 2002....we used Dreams Unlimited and were much happier with DU.

I would have to check with MIL of who are agent was.

Thanks for replying. They told me that they have been charging for three years now, so you went before that. Still, lots of people on the other thread have booked recently and weren't charged, so I don't really know what the deal is with them...

We booked through AAA for our trip last November. We were not charged a fee.
I don't know where you are at in Michigan but we went through the AAA offce in Eastpointe on Kelly Rd near 10 Mile. Our agents name was Lynn. She didn't seem to know a whole lot about Disney but I knew exactly what I wanted to book so that wasn't a problem.

That is pretty close to us- did you book a package or room only? The other thing I was told is that they charge for packages, but not room only reservations, althought the people here have indeed booked packages.

We booked a package - room, tickets and dining plan. I booked our flight myself so maybe that is what they charge the fee for?

I didn't book a flight through them either... I just don't get it. I am in contact with a Chicago agent referred to me by another diser rright now, and while she didn't mention fees (and I asked) her price is about $80 more than going direct through Disney I can't win! I will try your office next, maybe I'll finally get somewhere...

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I booked my package for free with the agent in Chicago, her qoute was including optional insurance...
